Elf Express

The weather warmed up just in time for our D23 Elf Express delivery! We had a great time exploring the community and meeting up with all of the families that came to the bus stops to get a special holiday treat!

School-wide Celebrations!

On Friday, we had a number of student celebrations to celebrate the collective work of the students so far in the school year. 8th grade started off the day with a grade-level meeting that included the annual pie-in-the-face from the advisory that raised the most money for our Helping Hands Money Wars campaign. We had two gracious recipients this year, Mrs. Kraus and Ms. O'Connor.

In lunches, everyone got a cup of hot chocolate. This was for reaching our next benchmark of 400 pride paw cards this year!

We also drew names of pride paw earners for our #MAChasPRIDE gear distribution. Everyone loves the exclusive tie-dye shirt!

Then we ended the day with our all-school assembly with highlights from VIM, Unified, basketball, poms, and cheer.

Family & Consumer Science

Many times, the FACS update is showing off our 8th grade Mock Interviews, To change things up a bit, check out one of the cooking uints in 6th grade, Recently, 6th graders were making a sweetened warm cinnamon apples dish.

Basketball

This week, our conference hosted the innagural "Final Four" conference tournament for boys and girls basketball. All of our teams qualified on Tuesday. Our 7th grade boys team advanced with an overtime win to face Lincoln on Thursday where they ultimately won, capturing the conference title. Our 8th grade girls team continued their undefeated ways on Tuesday and Thursday, also capturing a conference title. These girls were undefeated as 7th graders as well, never losing a conference game in a MacArthur uniform!

Our Unified team started off their season this week with a tough loss to Keller Junior High.

Winter Concerts & Food Drive

The VIM program was awesome this month and really gave our audiences a treat! If you couldn't attend and still want the experience, you can watch them on our MacArthur YouTube page.

Congrats to Ms. Murray, Ms. Gieron, and especially, Mr. Severino (his first concert as a director)!!

Poms & Cheer Showcase

This past Monday, all of the teams from our conferences came together to show off what they have been working on this past season. Wheeling High School hosted our conference Poms & Cheer Showcase this year and MacArthur brought down the house with each performance. A special thanks to our 8th graders and Coaches Peterson & Kraus!
