Principal's Welcome

Welcome to MacArthur Middle School, home of the Marauders!

Registration is open for next year. Please complete it as soon as possible. It really helps to confirm all of the students for classes next year. You do not need to pay for any fees at this time since fees aren't assessed until July!

MacArthur is almost in the lead in completed registration in D23. That has never happened in my time at MacArthur so please take some time this weekend to complete the process. I would love to be in the lead at Wednesday's administrative team meeting!!

D23 Registration

Next week looks to be a busy one around MacArthur, even though the track and boys volleyball seasons are winding down.

Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week and our PTO has scheduled out some great events and gifts each day. Thank you for supporting them so they can support us. Consider joinging the PTO more regularly, the next meeting is May 25th!

Our May concert season kicks off next week with an Orchestra Performance on May 10th. Chorus has their concert on May 16th and Band finishes up the season with a concert on the 18th.

We also have the MacArthur Musical next week with evening performances on May 11th and 12th.

Probably, the most important day coming up in the next two weeks is May 14th, Mother's Day. Our Marauder moms are the first teachers for many of our students. Thank you for all your efforts along the way. It is not easy raising teenagers (I have three of my own), but our kids come to school prepared for their day because of you. Sometimes, we even get to see you dropping something off when the morning routine didn't go as planned. Thank you for being our partner in raising our Marauders to be engaged and productive citizens of the local community! Enjoy your day, however that may be!

7th Grade Science

Directly from the students:

Seventh grade science has been a lot of fun with our teachers: Mrs. Vargo and Mrs. Foley. All year long, we have gotten the opportunity to work with different people. In this last unit, we learned about cells. We have done many hands-on activities using microscopes and examining specimens. We designed a house that was an analogy of the parts of a cell. It helped us understand and remember parts of a cell and how they function. This unit has been challenging, but we have learned many new things. We can’t wait to finish the year off by learning about genetics and genetic traits. Thank you to Mrs. Vargo and Mrs. Foley for putting in the time and effort to teach us all that we have learned this year. We appreciate you!

Boys Volleyball

Our boys volleyball teams have been having a great season, getting better each week. The exciting thing about all of that is next week's tournament can be won by anyone. Will it be Thomas, South, Trails, or our own MacArthur Marauders?!
