Who Are the Real Racists?

Reprinted from American Thinker (by one of our Board members) by Sam Thiessen

The Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) recently voted to send President Biden’s nominee for Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS), General C.Q Brown, to the full Senate for confirmation. The only reason Brown’s confirmation has not been brought to a vote is because of Senator Tommy Tuberville’s blanket hold on all votes for military officer promotions that require Senate confirmation. While Tuberville’s hold is primarily an effort to stop the Department of Defense (DoD) from funding assistance to service members seeking abortion, it is worth noting that Brown’s views on race and gender diversity in the services are every bit as controversial as government funding of abortion assistance.

General Brown has expressed his concern for lack of representation of minorities and women in U.S. Air Force pilot ranks. As Air Force Chief of Staff, Brown, himself a minority, has acted to remedy such perceived race and gender disparities in the ranks by implementing diversity and inclusion (D&I) programs throughout the Air Force, including establishing quotas for a set percentage of minority pilots. Such programs have more recently included equity as a desired outcome so that DEI is now the preferred acronym. READ the FULL Article

The military is running a contest for ideas about improving recruitment

lightbulb-clipart-new-idea-4 image

From American Thinker

By Andrea Widburg, American Thinker

If you act quickly, you can enter the joint Modern War Institute and US Army Training and Doctrine Command writing contest.

The contest wants ideas to solve the military’s recruiting problems.

If you can offer a winning solution in no more than 1,500 words, along with abiding with other stylistic guidelines, you’ll get public recognition, and maybe the powers that be will act on what you have to say. The deadline for submissions is at 11:50 p.m. Eastern Time, on September 3.

In a post announcing the contest, the Modern War Institute, which operates at West Point, explains the problem:

“Credible defense begins with our ability to steadily attract and retain the men and women who would assume the initial burden of a fast breaking war.” More than forty years ago, Vice Admiral Robert B. Pirie, Jr. eloquently described why recruiting was a national security issue.

This year, the Army will again fail to meet recruiting goals after falling fifteen thousand short last year.

Anti-American General Heading Strategic Command Invited Iranian Diplomat to Speak at Deterrence Symposium

Aug 31, 20233:00 pm By Daniel Greenfield

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is an investigative journalist and writer focusing on the radical Left and Islamic terrorism.

This would be the equivalent of FDR inviting Goering to Casablanca, but it is abundantly clear that the foreign policy establishment in this country is rotten with treason that things like this are becoming routine. The enemies of our country are gleefully operating on the side and barely even hiding what they are. All of this shot up under Obama and it appears to be growing worse every year. The same people who rave about classified documents stored at Mar-a-Lago bring in our worst enemies to national security events.

U.S. Strategic Command (STRATCOM) tapped Hussein Mousavian, a former member of Iran’s nuclear negotiating team who works as a Middle East security and nuclear policy specialist at Princeton University, to headline its 2023 Deterrence Symposium, a high-level powwow that brought the former Iranian official shoulder-to-shoulder with America’s top military brass.
Mousavian’s appearance at the mid-August gathering, which came to light on Monday after STRATCOM posted a video of the event, drew criticism from former U.S. officials and veteran Iran analysts who questioned why America’s premier military outfit would host someone who maintains close ties to the Islamic Republic.
In his remarks, Mousavian thanked Gen. Anthony Cotton for inviting him to the event and said he would present an “Iranian perspective” on the current threat landscape within the Middle East.
“I’m afraid you may not like it, but I think it’s important to know the other side,” Mousavian said, adding that the United States must “rewrite their policy in the Middle East.”

Gen. Cotton hates America almost as much as Mousavian does. See full article

Mask Mandates: Do NOT Comply

_119924624_gettyimages-1219891088 image

A day after First Lady Jill Biden tested positive for Covid with mild symptoms, the White House announced that President Joe Biden will once again be wearing a mask indoors and will only remove it “when sufficiently distanced from others.”

The news comes as health officials in major urban centers, including New York City and Los Angeles, are urging Americans to wear masks again, citing a new strain of Covid spreading through the country

Call to action

We’re 6 months into it. Out of the 300 initial members, seven have joined us on the Board.  Three to five have written or posted articles on our website forum.

All the effort we’re accomplishing is being done by (basically) 5 or 6 people. & their bandwidth is getting thinner. There’s so much that needs to be done, & no one left to start these things, let alone be effective . To name a few “needs” :

  • Membership drive ( zero working this, need a small team that can dig out emails & send/seek responses)
  • Strategic planners (currently have one/two thinking about this – need 3-4 more planners)
  • FOIA initiators/followers/ data trackers Currently have 2, but that’s coincidental, as they’re doing this for another
  • Webmaster(s)
  • Communication team
  • Newsletter team
  • Interface liaisons for Congress, WP, affiliates
  • Donation/Fundraising team (this might include doing paperwork & submittal to various States, to allow us to solicit)
  • Lawyers & Accountants (these will be paid once we get going...!)

ONE person answered my last week's Call to Action. Why haven't YOU stepped up?

Wokeness in Our Military Weakens It

By James H. “Smokey” Shott, Bluefield Daily Telegraph

Last July a retired U.S. Army general spoke to an audience on the state of the nation’s military forces. Thomas Spoehr attained the rank of Lt. General in his career spanning more than 36 years in uniform. During that time, he served in positions in the Pentagon, with the 82nd Airborne Division, the 1st Armored Division, and as Deputy Commanding General of U.S. Forces in Iraq.

Spoehr was concerned with some things that had transpired that worked against the efficiency and strength of our military, and shared his concerns with the audience at the AWC Family Foundation Lecture Series at Hillsdale College. Following are some of his concerns.

Highest Military Awards Must Use Gender-Neutral Pronouns, DOD Says

140_e05c44e5-bea6-4c1e-86c7-e74fa6f52153_grande image

Change 5 to the Manual of Military Decorations and Awards took effect on Aug. 7, 2023, and hardly anyone noticed.

That is until last week, when the Office of the Secretary of Defense returned the draft citation for the end-of-tour award for none other than the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, four-star Army Gen. Mark Milley.

Because of Change 5, Milley’s citation must use the pronoun “themself” instead of “himself.”

Page 49 of the revised manual includes draft language for awards, such as this (emphasis added):

Superior Meritorious Service (e.g., PCS and Retirement awards): (Rank) First M. Last, Jr., United States (Military Service), distinguished themself by superior meritorious service in a position of significant responsibility as (position and duty assignment), from (month year) to (month year).

The revised rules, found in Department of Defense Manual 1348.33, Volume 4, will apply to the most prestigious joint awards given by the Department of Defense, including:

  • the Defense Distinguished Service Medal,
  • the Defense Superior Service Medal,
  • the Defense Meritorious Service Medal,
  • the Joint Service Commendation Medal,
  • the Joint Service Achievement Medal, and
  • the Joint Meritorious Unit Award.

Aside from the fact that the use of the pronoun “themself” is grammatically incorrect and just plain stupid sounding, it is insulting to every service man and service women in the armed forces.

There are two sexes: male and female.

When a member of the U.S. armed forces earns a military decoration or award, he or she deserves to be recognized in that member’s official citation by the pronoun “he” or “she,” not some woke, grammatically incorrect pronoun demanded by elitist Biden administration apparatchiks. . . . .(read more on Daily Signal)

Army expands mental health support by implementing the Brandon Act

1920px-Military_Health_System image

As part of the Army’s ongoing efforts to eliminate the stigma associated with seeking mental health support, the Army has approved a policy empowering Soldiers to request a mental health evaluation through a commander or supervisor in accordance with the Brandon Act. The Army’s new Brandon Act policy will allow Soldiers to confidentially seek help through their leaders in the rank of staff sergeant or above, and it will charge leaders to quickly and confidentially connect Soldiers with resources.

Named after Petty Officer 3rd Class Brandon Caserta, who died by suicide in 2018, see remainder of article
