Promoting Futsal at Schools Through the Henry Jolson Pathways Program
Futsal is one of the fastest growing sports in the world, played in over 100 countries. Through the Henry Jolson Pathways Program, Maccabi is running Futsal sessions for year 3-6 students at Sholem Aleichem College. The children are learning the basics of Futsal and developing dribbling, passing and shooting skills. In addition, Maccabi is providing a coach for the King David School year 8-9 teams participating in a Futsal weekly competition at Box Hill Indoor Sports Centre.

Over 40 years of Incredible Service to Maccabi FC
In the 41 years of Maccabi FC Caulfield’s existence there have been many constants that we have all come to rely on, but only one of them comes with vast football knowledge, a caring and compassionate nature and a big warm and friendly smile like our coach Bernie Weiss.
Coach Bernie has been a rock of stability not just at Maccabi FC over the decades but also in the Jewish football club that preceded it, Hakoah SC, as well as having gained valuable experience at other clubs over the years.
As a club we are extremely fortunate that Bernie decided to return to his roots as we rely on not just his knowledge of the game but also his passion for football and Maccabi FC.
It is impossible to know exactly how many players have been impacted by Bernie’s passion but it must count in the dozens as well as many players that currently play senior football.
We can safely say that to all of us Bernie is a valued coach, mentor and above all a friend that we could not do without easily.
For all of his volunteer work at the club we are proud to say that Bernie was recently recognised by the City of Glen Eira for his valuable contribution to the community.
Kol hakavod Bernie, we hope to see you at the club for the next 40 years.
Maccabi Tennis Club
For the second week in a row the Grade7 Section 1 team of Jordan Jaffe, Marty Schwarz, Jan Teneberg and Adam Needleman took down an undefeated team as they cemented themselves at the top end of the ladder.
It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of a good friend and Table Tennis teammate, Sol Shachter. Sol represented the Maccabi Table Tennis Club both as a player and club official with pride and good humour for approximately 50 years.
