The 2026 Maccabiah is officially underway! Today marked the first full day of competition, as our athletes took to the competition venues across Israel to begin their Maccabiah journey. From exciting matchups to memorable first moments, the Games are officially in full swing.

The day culminated with a spectacular Opening Ceremony, where thousands of athletes proudly marched into Teddy Stadium to celebrate the start of the 2026 Maccabiah. It was an unforgettable evening filled with pride, tradition, and the unmistakable spirit of the Maccabi Movement.

First Full Day of Maccabiah Competition

The Games are officially underway! Our teams officially began competition across a wide range of sports, delivering strong performances, unforgettable moments, and premier sportsmanship. See the full results from yesterday's games here:

Individual sports, including tennis, golf, and chess also began and we look forward to watching all of our athletes compete in the coming days.

Maccabiah Opening Ceremony

After four years of anticipation, the 2026 Maccabiah Opening Ceremony was a truly unforgettable and deeply meaningful moment. Our 950-member delegation proudly marched into Teddy Stadium, joining thousands of Jewish athletes and volunteers from around the world in a powerful celebration of unity, identity, and the enduring spirit of the Maccabi movement. Surrounded by an electric atmosphere, inspiring performances, and the unwavering support of family and friends, the evening served as a reminder that the Maccabiah is about far more than competition, it's about coming together as one global Jewish community. The magic of the Maccabiah was on full display and it was incredibly moving to gather as one global Jewish community to celebrate our Jewish pride in the Jewish Homeland.

Maccabi USA Meets With President Herzog and
U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee

Yesterday, our Maccabi USA Supporters Mission participants had the distinct honor of meeting with Israeli President Isaac Herzog and U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee, gaining meaningful insight into leadership, diplomacy, and the deep ties between Israel and the American Jewish community. The conversations underscored the significance of this year’s Maccabiah as a moment of connection, pride, and shared purpose, leaving our delegation energized for the days ahead.
