Sunday brought another day filled with competition, community, and unforgettable experiences at the 2026 Maccabiah – and the first batch of medals for the USA delegation! Whether chasing those medals or cheering on teammates, our athletes, coaches, supporters, and staff continued to embrace everything that makes the Maccabiah such a special celebration of Jewish unity and excellence.

Individual sports, including tennis, golf, chess, padel, Maccabi Man/Woman, and pickleball continued, while the first wrestling, swimming, table tennis, track and field, and Maccabi Run competitions began. We look forward to watching all of our athletes compete in the coming days.

Maccabi USA and Makkabi Ukraine Ceremony

One of the most meaningful moments of the day brought together members of the Maccabi USA and Makkabi Ukraine delegations in a celebration of resilience, friendship, and the unifying power of Jewish pride and sports. Since the war began, the Maccabi USA community has rallied behind Ukraine, raising vital funds to help ensure Ukrainian athletes could continue representing their country on the world stage at the Maccabiah  and to send Ukrainian youth to summer camp in the US and Ukraine.

This special gathering celebrated a partnership built on far more than competition. It was an opportunity for athletes from both delegations to connect, share stories, and stand together in solidarity, demonstrating that the Maccabiah is not only about medals, but about supporting one another through every challenge and strengthening the bonds of the global Jewish community.

We send a special thank you to the Koum Family Foundation for being such an integral partner in organizing and funding this project.
