The Chamber's Public Policy Committee met with State Representative Diana Farrington- Dist. 30 (center) at their monthly meeting.  The committee regularly meets with local elected officials to hear current legislative issues and hot topics to better serve Chamber members on issues affecting local businesses.

Three Macomb County NACo awards recognized
as 100 Brilliant Ideas at Work

The 100 Brilliant Ideas at Work initiative launched by NACo this year recognizes 100 examples throughout the nation of visionary county leadership that improves residents' quality of life. The awards honor innovative, effective county government programs that enhance services for residents. In Macomb County, the Health Department received this recognition for its Enhanced Hepatitis C Surveillance and Prevention and Healthy Cooking for a Life Program Max Thompson Family Resource Center - Kitchen Renovation submissions. The Macomb County Department of Roads received the honor for its GovDelivery Incident Alert Service - Streamlining Communications with Motorists submission. The Department of Roads program has also been honored with a Best in Category distinction by NACo.  A total of 21 NACo Achievement Awards were earned statewide. 
CARE of Southeastern Michigan Ride 4 Recovery Kickoff Breakfast June 28th at the Jimmy Johns Ballpark!

Join members of CARE of Southeastern Michigan and the Ride 4 Recovery Planning Committee for breakfast at the Jimmy Johns Field to kick off our 5th Annual Ride 4 Recovery! You'll have an opportunity to learn more about team development and fundraising goals, rider registration, volunteer opportunities, and sponsorship opportunities. Guests will also enjoy a tour of the ballpark! 8:30 - 10 a.m. Registration is free! Must be registered to attend.

Home-in-One Golf Classic June 26

Golf for a cause:  Join Macomb County Habitat for Humanity for their Home-in-One Golf Classic on Monday, June 26 at Greystone Golf Club. Every time you swing your club, miss the hole, drop a ball in the water, or achieve a "hole-in-one," you will be helping to build or rehab a home for a future Habitat homeowner!   Email Briana for details and registration.
