Centennial Airshow to be presented by Community Partners

The 2017 Selfridge Open House and Airshow, which is organized and hosted by the 127th Wing at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, will be presented by the Selfridge Base Community Council in partnership with the Macomb Foundation.  Scheduled for August 19-20, 2017, this year's show will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of military aviation at Selfridge, and will feature the United States Air Force Thunderbirds.

The Selfridge Open House & Airshow promises to be one of the largest free events in Michigan and is expected to attract visitors from across the region and parts of Canada. Public interest in the show could result in a crowd size exceeding 80,000 people each day which will provide a tremendous economic impact to the region.

Corporate Hospitality Chalets that include VIP tables, seating and parking passes, are still available!  Contact Penny at the Chamber for more information.

As part of its centennial celebration, First State Bank is honored to announce a $5,000 donation to KnowResolve, a Macomb County nonprofit focused on youth suicide prevention.   One of every seven high school students seriously considers suicide. Far too many go beyond contemplation. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, suicide is the second-leading cause of death in teens and young adults, only behind accidents.  To donate to KnowResolve or for more information about youth suicide prevention, please visit the organization online.
