Lockheed Martin visits Macomb County

Macomb County welcomed a team of representatives from Lockheed Martin for an invitation-only matchmaking event Wednesday. The event was spearheaded by the Macomb County Chamber and Macomb County Department of Planning & Economic Development. The planning team worked with Lockheed Martin to develop an online vetting process for interested companies and then identified and invited businesses from across the state to apply. Ultimately, 50 companies from across the state were invited to attend. Read more.

Manufacturing Day hosts and sponsors sought

Plans are underway for the next Manufacturing Day which will be held Friday, Oct. 6. The Macomb Economic Development & Planning Department seeks area manufacturers who are willing to host tours for students and sponsors to help cover event expenses. Selfridge Open House and Air Show August 19-20 

Celebrate 100 years of Selfridge ANGB with the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds at the Selfridge Open House and Air Show August 19-20 at Selfridge Air National Guard Base. Admission and parking for the show are FREE, but a limited number of Premium Box and Flight Line Club Seats are now available for purchase while supplies last. 
Help Rhinos in 'De-Spare' on June 3

The Detroit chapter of the American Association of Zookeepers (AAZK) invites bowlers to help save rhinoceroses one pin at a time at Bowling for Rhinos. The annual bowl-a-thon for the conservation of endangered rhinos will take place Saturday, June 3, 2017, 7 p.m., at Hartfield Lanes in Berkley. To register for the event or support rhino conservation, visit www.aazkdetroit.org
Baker College's Auto/Diesel Institute of Michigan receives $51,558 PACCAR heavy truck engine for training

Baker College's Auto/Diesel Institute (ADI) of Michigan has been given a $51,558 PACCAR MX13-13 diesel truck engine, a donation from Berger Dealer Group, of Dearborn, to enable engine-specific technician training. Berger also donated the specialized tools, software and related manuals to service the engine. The donation is one of the largest in the history of the ADI, which opened in 2007.
