Midwest Sculpture Initiative

Macomb Township was selected for a public art partnership with the Midwest Sculpture Initiative (MSI) for the 2017/2018 exhibit year. Founded in 2003, MSI works with communities to place sculptures in outdoor public spaces. MSI provides a selection of original pieces from artists in the Midwest (including Michigan). MSI puts out a call for artists in the winter, then curates and installs the temporary exhibits in each community in the spring. Macomb Township has eight pieces in this exhibit. Each piece has a sponsor to cover costs of the exhibit. This exhibit will be on display throughout summer, fall and winter and spring. This project has received grant funding from the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA).
