Macomb County announces $10.2 million Mound Road resurfacing project

Macomb County announced it will proceed with a $10.2 million complete resurfacing of Mound Road this summer.  It will be completely resurfaced from 14 Mile to 18 Mile Roads in both directions. The resurfacing well be completed by the end of 2018. The improvement is expected to last at least five years until the funding for the complete reconstruction can be secured in the amount of $217 million.
A look at Macomb County's transformation to a charter government kicks off Lorenzo Cultural Center's program series

Today, February 28 at 1 p.m.

A panel discussion, Macomb's Transition to a Charter Government, will feature several of those who served on the Macomb County Charter Commission as well as the first-elected county executive, leading off the Lorenzo Cultural Center's latest program series.The presentation is free, but preregistration is required by calling 586-445-7348 or by emailing culturalcenter@macomb.edu.

USPBL Announces 2018 Promotional Schedule

Opening Weekend, May 11-13, will feature Fireworks Friday, WCSX Classic Rock Saturday and Sunday Fun Day. Making their debut this season will be JJ The Field General Bat Dog and the USPBL Dance Crews, which will perform at every game. The USPBL will recognize last year's champion, the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers, with a ring ceremony and special flag raising on opening night. The first 750 fans through the gates all weekend long will receive a 2018 USPBL Schedule Magnet giveaway.
Retired congressman David Bonior to discuss new book at Lorenzo Cultural Center

March 6 at 4 p.m.

Former congressman and author David Bonior will discuss his new book, Whip: Leading the Progressive Battle During the Rise of the Right, at Macomb Community College's Lorenzo Cultural Center. Bonior will be interviewed by Jack Lessenberry, head of the journalism faculty at Wayne State University and senior news analyst for WUOM-FM.

Anton Art Center Announces the 37th Annual Macomb  County Secondary Student Show

Opening Reception March 10th from 1-3 p.m.

This annual exhibition is open to all students in Macomb County currently enrolled in grades 7-12, either homeschooled or in private, parochial, or public schools. This year, the Anton Art Center received 1,243 artwork submissions to be juried. Of those, 370 artworks by 228 students presented by 41 teachers from 27 schools were selected for the show.
Health care innovators discuss entrepreneurial opportunities during Butzel Long conference

Butzel Long is hosting a half-day program titled, "The Autonomous Patient: Entrepreneurs Driving Health Care II," featuring leading area health care and business experts from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
