Pending and Incomplete 4-H Online Enrollments
Macomb County currently has several 4-H Online member enrollment requests that are pending or incomplete. A member enrollment/re-enrollment request may be pending because the State 4-H participation fee payment hasn't been received by Macomb County MSU Extension, or because there is a problem with your signatures on the authorization page.  Remember, you are not enrolled yet if your record is still pending or incomplete.

An email message went out in January to members with pending/incomplete enrollment. If you haven't paid the State 4-H participation fee, please make checks out to MSU Extension and mail them to Macomb County MSU Extension, Attn: 4-H Youth Development, 21885 Dunham Road, Suite 12, Clinton Township, MI 48036. There currently is no payment option in 4-H Online.

If there is a problem with your authorization signatures in 4-H Online, or if you don't know why your enrollment is pending or incomplete, please contact Macomb County 4-H at 586-469-6431 or macomb.4h@macombgov.org

Volunteer's dedication remembered
Former 4-H volunteer David Schenburn passed away on Novemer 4, 2017. Mr. Schenburn was an amazing 4-H leader and role model to many! He was deeply dedicated to helping many people. It was not uncommon to see him and his wife helping 4-H members at the Armada Fair in the Exhibit barn and the livestock barns. The Schenburn family is a 4-H icon to many past 4-H members as well as current 4-H members. Our sincere condolences go out the the Schenburn family.

What can you do in a 4-H Outdoor Adventure Challenge Club?
null
Members of Dresden Outdoor Adventure Challenge 4-H Club hiking along the lake during
Winter Wilderness Survival Camp.

Recently Macomb County's Outdoor Adventure Challenge 4-H Club took a weekend winter survival camping trip to Wilderness State Park. The trip, organized by husband and wife team Joe and Theresa Whitenight, involved all the fun winter activities they could pack in. 4-H members went cross country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, played a version of shuffleboard on the frozen lake with a rock, learned compassing and had a snowman building contest. The group stayed in three cozy cabins and enjoyed good food while making new friends.

Mrs. Whitenight feels so strongly about getting youth outdoors that during the Fall Club Leader Meet, she offered to mentor any club interested in doing an Outdoor Adventure Challenge activity within their own club. Research  shows that youth who participate in such outdoor adventure challenge activities develop positive self-esteem and leadership.

The club is in need of skis, so if anyone has sets collecting dust that they are contemplating getting rid of, please contact the Whitenights at THERESA.WHITENIGHT@UticaK12.org and make arrangements to donate them .
