Woman Bound Over to Macomb County Circuit Court for Torturing Elderly Woman

Mount Clemens, MI - Yesterday, 40-year-old Laura Tisdelle of Sterling Heights was bound over on all charges to Macomb County Circuit Court in connection with the torture and abuse of her boyfriend’s elderly mother. Her next court date is Monday, January 8, 2024 at 1:30 pm in Macomb County Circuit Court.

It is alleged that on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, Tisdelle’s boyfriend returned home after a five day trip, and discovered his 80 year-old mother with her hands tied together, restrained to the bed, severely beaten and laying in her own urine and feces.  During the five day trip, Laura Tisdelle was the sole caregiver for the victim in her Sterling Heights home.

Tisdelle was charged by the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office Senior Crimes Unit with Torture (life felony), Vulnerable Adult Abuse in the First Degree (15 year felony), Unlawful Imprisonment (15 year felony), and Domestic Violence 3rd (five year felony).

“We are committed to pursuing justice for the alleged torture and abuse inflicted upon this elderly woman. This commitment drives us to passionately advocate for the dignity and well-being of individuals who are unable to protect themselves,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s office represents the people.  We are committed to achieving justice and following the laws of the State of Michigan. All that are accused of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
