Teams are set

The Macon Pickleball League Champions League held its draft this week with Mark Walz and Steve Mallory going as the first two picks. These teams are set for an orientation this Wednesday at Tattnall and ALL MPL teams will start matches on Thursday.

Any player who isn't on a team but wants to participate, the MPL is in the need of subs. If a team member can't make a match, their captain must find a replacement for that week. If you are interested in being on the sub list, contact MPL League Coordinator, John (JR) Roberts, at goodenough@gmail.com.

This Friday from 6:00 - 7:30 PM, the Macon Pickleball Association will be holding an Up the River, Down the River Mixer for its members. Non-members are welcome to participate. Cost for non-members is $5 plus court fees. Macon Pickleball member need only to pay court fees.

Space is limited to 24 players.

This is a good opportunity to get some exercise, meet some new people and then head downtown to enjoy a First Friday in Macon.

OPEN PLAY takes place every weekday in the mornings and the afternoons. Morning play start times vary with the weather, but the busier days tend to be MWF. Afternoon open play usually gets cranked up around 6:00 and lasts for several hours.

6:00 PM: Improver's Ladder League. Must opt in on Pickleballbrackets.com. Cost is $2 plus court fees.

Tuesday, Aug 30 :

9:00 AM Ladies Ladder League. Must opt in on Pickleballbrackets.com. Cost is $2 plus court fees.

6:00 PM Coed Ladder League. Must opt in on Pickleballbrackets.com. Cost is $2 plus court fees.

6:30 - 7:30 PM Pickleball 101 round robin and graduation!

Wednesday, Aug 31:

9:00 - 10:00 AM: Pickleball 101 @ JDS A four week course for beginners. Cost is $60. Register here.

6:00 - 7:00 PM: Champions League Orientation

6:30 - 7:30 PM Pickleball 102 class begins. A four week course to help new players become more consistent and learn some strategy. Cost is $60. Register here.

Thursday, Aug 25 :

6:00 PM Opening Day for MACON PICKLEBALL LEAGUES!

6:30 - 7:30 PM - Drills with Paul. He'll run you around for an hour. You'll hit a lot of balls and work up a sweat. Cost is $15 For 3.0 level players and higher. Register here.

Friday, Aug 26:

6:00 - 7:30 PM - Macon Pickleball First Friday Up the River, Down the River. Free (except court fees) for Macon Pickleball members and $5 (plus court fees) for non-members. Six timed rounds of pickleball, work up a sweat and then head downtown to relax and enjoy some First Friday entertainment. Register here. Space is limited.
