the World”

Beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesdays, February 12th through April 16th

Upcoming Events
ASH Wednesday
March 6th
To mark the beginning of Lent, Pastor Matt and Pastor Rafa will be available to impose ashes on either the forehead or hand, as a symbol of mourning and penance.
Pastor Rafa will be at
Horne Square (corner of Main St and Lombard in downtown Clayton)  between 6AM-9AM.
Pastor Matt will be at Christ Community UMC’s parking lot
(1082 Amelia Church Rd, Clayton
across from the park)
and will also travel to your workplace or home by appointment.
We impose ashes early not to show how pious we are but so we might witness to the world that we are sinners in need of Christ's grace. The ashes mean we are sinners. The shape of the cross means we have a savior.
Takes approximately 15 seconds per person.

Some things that you may find informative....
BAPTISM & MEMBERSHIP:    During the 2017 trip to Israel, as several in our group were getting baptized in the Jordan River, nine others lined up to profess their faith in Christ (a few through an interpreter) and to get baptized as well.  It was a beautiful and humbling moment which served as a reminder of our call to live out the Great Commission to “ go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and the Son and Holy Spirit ” (Matthew 28:19).
If you would like to begin a new life in Christ, to get baptized, or to join the amazing things God is doing here at GHUMC, please text/call Pastor Matt at ( 919-632-3576 ) or email ( pastor@greaterheightsumc.com )  today!  A new way of living awaits as we work together, through and in the Spirit, to make God’s mad, crazy love (unconditional love of Christ without judgment, guilt, or shame) real!
FOOD PANTRY DISTRIBUTION:    All are invited to join GHUMC and Christ Community UMC as we serve those in the Clayton area every 2nd Saturday of the month at CCUMC’s food pantry at 1082 Amelia Church Rd in Clayton.
FOREIGN & LOCAL MISSIONS:    Contact GHUMC’s Rev. Butch Huffman at
(919-931-4304)  or ( butchhuffman@nccumc.org )  to learn more about the many opportunities.
SUPPORT GHUMC:    We invite everyone to join in the daily prayers on Twitter at @ReverendMatt.  We greatly appreciate everyone who helps increase our online awareness by "liking", "sharing", "retweeting" and "reading" the tweets and posts, but please do not forget to pause and join us in prayer.
GIVING ONLINE   or via Text is now fast, easy and secure:
Click here to give online   OR  via text (919- 407-8111).
This allows us to focus on what matters the most.......
helping us spread Christ’s mad, crazy love.

At 10:40 each Sunday, a group gathers outside the Council Chambers to pray for that day’s service as well as whatever else is on our hearts.  ALL are welcome (regularly or once).  Verbal participation is not necessary.
At the close of each service, there will be people waiting at the front to pray with/for you.
If you are feeling God’s leaning in this area and are interested in learning more about intercessory praying, please speak to any of those leading prayers.

Somos personas imperfectas que hemos experimentado el amor de Jesús. Y ese amor nos ha llenado tanto que ahora queremos compartirlo contigo. Te invitamos a que conozcas ese increíble amor de Dios. Eres muy bienvenido.
