in 2024!

"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen."

Ephesians 3:20-21

If I am being perfectly honest, instead of skipping joyfully into the new year, I sort of gimped into 2024. Sickness led to delayed celebrations, and instead of being thankful, my self-centered heart cried out, "I deserve MORE!" My emotions underscored my disappointment and lack. We live in a culture of "not-enoughness." This chase for contentment can feel elusive. The ideology of scarcity underscores our need to consider anew the sufficiency or "enoughness" of God's character and purpose this year. This year, we will devote many resources to exploring how satisfaction, significance, and sufficiency can only be found by seeking our Savior.

What is the salve for my sin-sick soul? Look up to Him—not outward to my circumstances or others—to feed my heart's bottomless pit of need. He is the only One "who is able to do far MORE abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen!" We do not serve a part-time God, but rather an omnipotent Father whose power is inexhaustible! He is continually able to accomplish surpassingly great deeds on behalf of the children He dearly loves. And as His children, we can come boldly to the throne of grace because anything we ask for is nothing compared to His ability to sufficiently provide MORE than we can imagine!

Thankful He gives MORE grace (James 4:6)!
