UCSF BENIOFF CHILDREN'S HOSPITALS WALNUT CREEK TO UNVEIL EXPANDED OUTPATIENT SPACES AND SERVICES
UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals Walnut Creek Outpatient Center has completed construction and finishing touches on its multi-year expansion project and will begin seeing young patients in the newly renovated space in mid-April.

More than 7,000 SF of former office space was renovated into a state-of-the-art sub-specialty and infusion center with 12 exam rooms, six private infusion rooms, and updated phlebotomy/outpatient blood draw stations, greatly expanding the hospital's medical services and capabilities.

The expanded services complement existing services delivered at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals (BCH) Walnut Creek Outpatient Center, which include Outpatient Surgery with two operating rooms; Diagnostic Imaging with MRI and X-ray; Motion Lab; Orthopedics & Sports Medicine; Audiology; Cardiology; Neurology; Endocrinology; Ear, Nose & Throat; and additional sub-specialty clinics.

The BCH Walnut Creek Outpatient Center is the county's only full-service outpatient medical center designed for the unique needs of children and adolescents—its full range of diagnostic, medical, and surgical care all offered in one location.

The expanded Walnut Creek Outpatient Center represents the commitment and dedication UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals has made to providing world-class, community-focused pediatric care to Contra Costa County.

Congratulations to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals Walnut Creek Outpatient Center on this milestone in health care and medical services dedicated to children and their families throughout the region.

TOP SPINE DOCTORS ESTABLISH WALNUT CREEK HOURS AT GOLDEN STATE ORTHOPEDICS & SPINE
Golden State Orthopedics & Spine (GSOS) was launched on January 1, 2022, by the joining together of three orthopedic groups: Muir Orthopaedic Specialists, OrthoNorCal, and Webster Orthopedics. New to Shadelands, now with Walnut Creek clinic hours, are two esteemed spine doctors who both come to GSOS by way of Webster Orthopedics in Oakland and Dublin.

Saqib Hasan, MD, is an Orthopedic & Neurosurgical Spine Surgeon, the first fellowship-trained, full-endoscopic spine surgeon in the United States. Dr. Hasan completed an advanced minimally invasive and endoscopic spine surgery fellowship, and is fully trained in the use of endoscopic techniques for the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine.

Andrew Hou, MD, is an Interventional Spine Physician specializing in Neck, Spine, and Interventional Pain Medicine. Fellowship trained, Dr. Hou specializes in the nonsurgical treatment of neck and back disorders, utilizing minimally invasive procedures with X-ray guidance to pinpoint the location of the pain, evaluate the disorder, and treat it at its source, allowing patients to go a more conservative route and avoid surgery.

Welcome, Dr. Hasan and Dr. Hou!

GOOD MEWS! DROP-IN ADOPTIONS ARE BACK AT ARF
Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) is happy to announce that drop-in adoptions are back! No reservations are necessary and individuals and families are welcome anytime during adoption hours to meet ARF's dogs and cats, pups and kittens who are looking to be adopted.

"Rescuing a pet gives the adopter the great feeling of knowing that they have saved a life and made a profound difference in the life of that animal," says Erin Thompson, ARF Marketing Manager.

"But animals also give us so much more in return. Their ability to be present in the moment, provide endless, unconditional love, and push us to be the best versions of ourselves is priceless."

ARF is open for adoptions Wednesdays–Sundays, Noon–6pm. For details about the adoption process, visit ARF Adoption.
