Our Board of Directors consists of Chapter President, Secretary, Treasurer, Leagues Director, Events Director, Membership Director, and Communications/Social Media Director.

One of the most common complaints on the golf course is slow pace of play. In general, a foursome should be able to complete 9 holes in 2 hours. If you have an open hole in front of you, make sure you aren't falling behind with the following tips:

• Practice swings: only take 1!
• Be ready to hit when it's your turn: think about what club/shot to hit while walking to your ball/while other players are hitting.
• Lost balls/penalty areas: Spend no more than 3 minutes looking for a lost ball. After 3 minutes, take a drop and play on.
• On the greens, mark your ball as soon as you reach the green so it does not interfere with other players' shots.
• Read and line up your putt while other players are going through their preparation routines.
• Leave your clubs/park your cart where you will exit the green: avoid wasting time by doubling back to get to your cart/clubs. As soon as your group finishes putting, exit the green in the direction of the next hole so the group behind you can play.
• Mark your scorecard on the next tee. Don't hold up the group behind you by marking scores on or near the green.
• Help your playing partners: Try to follow where their shots go and help them look if they lose their ball.
• Pick up your ball if you're struggling on a hole. It's okay to pick up and move on! Many golfers choose to pick up once they reach a score of double par or if they reach 10 strokes. Note that you should not pick up your ball in tournaments unless explicitly stated in the rules.

• Brigitte Jagemann and Deb Evers won 3rd low gross in first flight
• Susan Crowson and Jean McCormick won 1st low gross in second flight
• Wendy Proctor and Ros Gusinow won 2nd low net in second flight
• Sandra Latham and Rose Shillinglaw won 3rd low gross in second flight
• Shelly Armstrong and Dana Hoffmann won 1st low net in third flight

Rebecca Swartz and her mom, Diane Kiino, won overall low gross and Lisa Herfel and her mom, Loretta Herfel, won overall low net in the WSGA mother-daughter championship at the Grand Geneva Highlands course.

The Sponsorship Director position is open on the Board of Directors. This position would be a good fit for you if you enjoy connecting with local business owners and want to make more connections with members and the Madison community.
