Madison Messenger - October 2024

Principal Message

Madison Families,

At Madison Elementary, we believe that every day of learning counts. As we move through the school year, it’s important to highlight how regular attendance contributes to your child’s academic success and overall well-being. Help set your student up for a successful morning by having them to school by 8:25 each day (9:25 on Mondays). Students who arrive late miss out on valuable instruction time and time with their peers.

When students attend school consistently, they benefit from engaging in classroom instruction, participating in hands-on activities, and developing essential social skills. Even missing just a few days can make it harder for students to catch up, especially with the fast-paced learning that takes place every day.

Research shows a strong link between good attendance and higher academic achievement. Students who come to school regularly are more likely to perform better in their studies, stay on track with their learning goals, and develop strong habits that will serve them in the future.

We know that life happens—illnesses, appointments, and other events can impact your child’s ability to be at school. When these situations arise, we encourage families to communicate with us so we can support you. However, whenever possible, ensuring your child attends school consistently helps set them up for success.

Let’s work together to make attendance a priority this year. If you have questions or need support with attendance, our office staff is here to help!

Thank you for your ongoing partnership in making Madison a great place to learn and grow.

Physical Activity Challenge

Hello Families,

Our physical activity challenges are underway again! These monthly challenges are a great way to have fun while being physically active outside of school.

Each day students will find a quick and simple activity to complete to the best of their ability. After they complete the activity simply cross it off on the calendar. Also on each day is an empty cup to help students remember to drink more water! If they're able to drink the recommended amount of water, they can check it off or color in the cup.

At the end of each month students will return their calendar with a parent/guardian signature to verify the activities completed. Students can complete as many activities as they can to earn a special tag and bead to wear on their personalized necklace. Collect all monthly tags to earn an extra special tag and bead at the end of the year! Let's make this another year to GET UP & MOVE and have some fun being active. We got this Mustangs!
