Madison Messenger - January 2025

Principal Message

Madison Families,

As we wrap up this month and prepare for a well-deserved winter break, I want to extend my heartfelt wishes to each of you for a holiday season filled with joy, laughter, and precious moments with those you hold dear. This time of year offers us the gift of slowing down, reflecting on what matters most, and creating lasting memories with loved ones. I hope you all find rest, warmth, and happiness in the days ahead. As we look toward the new year, I am filled with excitement and hope for the continued growth, learning, and successes that await our students and school community. Thank you for your partnership, support, and the love you pour into our school every day. Wishing you a safe, peaceful, and joy-filled holiday season and a bright start to the new year!

Mr. Bob

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Bob, who passed away after a brief battle with cancer. Mr. Bob was a recess supervisor and crossing guard at Madison for the last 5+ years. You could find him helping students cross at Whitehouse and Queen each day and keeping a watchful eye on the kids at lunch recess each day. Mr. Bob loved baseball, a good joke, and working at Madison. He said this was the best job he ever had. Recently a student at Madison described Mr. Bob as being the "G.O.A.T." (Greatest Of All Time). We will miss Mr. Bob and his constant presence at our school. If your student needs someone to talk to about this, please reach out to our office or encourage them to come see Ms. Kendra at school.

Late Students/ Breakfast at School

We have seen an increase in the number of late students each day. When students are late, they miss out on valuable instruction time and morning announcements. Please have your students to school by 8:25AM each day (9:25AM on Mondays). Breakfast is served each day until 10AM, however if your student is wanting to have school breakfast, please try to have them arrive at 8AM (9AM on Mondays) so they can eat with friends in the lunchroom. We appreciate your help.

Feeder Pattern News

Students from Shadle Park and North Central battled for the Groovy Shoes on December 18th. This is an incredible spirit competition between the two schools and includes aspects like community service as well. Many of our Madison students were able to be at the games to help cheer Shadle on and our 4th and 5th grade Cheer Team helped with the halftime performance. Shadle Park won the basketball games but lost the spirit competition to North Central.

If you missed it Groovy Shoes is a fantastic community event and a lot of fun to attend. We hope to see more Madison students there in the future!

After School Clubs

Volleyball Club will be starting for 3rd-5th grade students after break. 3rd Grade Art Club and K-3rd Grade Tumbling Club will be starting in late January. For up-to-date information about clubs and activities please see our calendar online. If you or your student has an idea for an after school club, please have them talk to the office.
