Madison Messenger - November 2024

Principal Message

Madison Families,

This month our character trait is Gratitude. We are so grateful for each and every one of our Madison students and families. Thank you for helping make our school a great place to be. I love the community, compassion, and leadership demonstrated by our staff and students each day! We have an amazing team.

We have added a few new staff members to our building. Kamian Truman has accepted the role of classroom teacher in our 2nd Newcomer classroom. Madison is now home to 2 classrooms for new English Language Learners. Denise Miller will be our long term sub working with ELD students. Please welcome Kylene Engeland (Ms. Kylie) our new student support specialist and Lucy Solar our new bilingual specialist to Madison.

Spokane Public Library

Native American Heritage Month honors the cultural richness of American Indians and is a great time, as is any, to uplift and share Native American stories. From curated art collections you can view from the National Gallery of Art to local events at the Spokane Tribe Resort and Casino, there are plenty of ways to learn more and get involved.

Reminders

  • Please do not park on Nebraska as this is our bus loading zone only.
  • Cold weather is here. Students will go outside each day for recess unless it is pouring rain or below 20 degrees. Please help your student dress for the weather. Contact our office if you are in need of winter weather gear.
  • Lost and Found is filling up. Has your student lost a jacket or sweatshirt. Come check out the lost and found located by the office.
  • Each month our school practices emergency drills like fire drills, earthquake, or "shelter in place". We practice so that all students and staff know what to do in an emergency.
