Finally, while River Forest’s journey in the National Civic League’s All-America City Award competition has concluded, the experience provided a wonderful opportunity to highlight the people, programs, and partnerships that make our community so special. I invite you to watch the two-minute video here, featuring residents who helped share River Forest’s story on a national stage. Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, talents, and community pride throughout this incredible process.

National Swimming Pool Day is this Saturday, July 11, and a time to remember the importance of conserving one of our most valuable resources - water. Proper pool maintenance not only helps keep your pool clean and safe, but can also reduce water waste and lower operating costs.
To help conserve water this summer:
- Repair leaks as they are detected.
- Keep your pool filtration system maintained.
- Drain your pool only when necessary due to water quality issues.
- Turn off waterfalls, fountains, and other decorative features when not in use.
- Plug the overflow line while the pool is in use.
- If you have a heated pool, lower the water temperature to reduce evaporation.
By following these simple steps, you can help to conserve water throughout the summer months.

Early feedback indicates a noticeable reduction in lawn maintenance noise, which creates a quieter, more enjoyable environment for all residents. As a reminder, the seasonal ban remains in effect through September 15. If you observe potential violations, please contact the Village at 708-366-8500 to assist with enforcement. Learn more here.
