PLANTING PROJECT WAS A BLOOMING SUCCESS!

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, dedicated volunteers recently came together to create a beautiful upgrade to our landscaping. Even in the pouring rain, they planted an array of plants, foliage and bedding that transformed our surroundings.

A special thank you to Chase Bank, Delta Xi Nu at Our Lady of the Lake University, AMEDD NCO Academy, SOMAP at UIW, U.S. Army IPASS, YMSL (Young Men's Service League), Northwest Hills Global Methodist Church, and the City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department.

EMPOWERING EVENTS

WE'VE BROKEN GROUND!

On a chilly November morning, Magdalena House staff welcomed its Board of Directors, long-time friends of the organization, and representatives from key funders of the campaign to the site of the new Family Empowerment Center. Joining together for a light breakfast and fellowship, guests reflected on how far the project has come.

The campaign, “Investing in Hope” began quietly in late 2021 with the first gift of architectural plans donated by Kindall Shannon of architectural firm, RS&H and Brian Sowell with WestEast Design Group. Shannon was among the guests in attendance at the groundbreaking and shared about the research processes behind creating a space that will meet all the needs of the community.

The construction got off to a great start mid-October with local builder, Texas Signature Homes at the helm. Weather permitting, the project has been full-speed ever since!

There is still time to make your mark on the community by donating to the project. Find information here:

Also, a big thank you to Amy Wenzel for providing beautifully decorated table centerpieces, which made the celebration extra special, and everyone for making this celebration truly special.
