Summer Message from Principal Nies

Happy Friday Magee Families:

It was the first week back for all Magee Staff. We participated in professional learning around Phonics Instruction, Mathematics Workshop, Play-Based Learning, and Science and Social Studies Curriculum. We also did a lot of celebrating. Please check out the "Congratulations" section to see a few of our staff members that we celebrated during our week back.

Here are a few updates for you to keep in mind.

  • Bus routes and stops are uploaded into Infinite Campus. If you have questions, please reach out to Dousman Transportation (262-965-2214) and if they can not assist you, they will direct you to Jenny Godin in our District Offices.
  • A message will be sent to 5K families only on Monday, August 29th. The email will give 5K families additional information about arrival and dismissal for the 5K half day on August 31st.
  • If you received a message from the front office about your child's way of transportation for dismissal, please return that call ASAP so we know how your child is getting home at the end of each day.
  • Our Back to School Picnic will take place on Friday, September 9th. Please look for the flyer below for additional information.

I will leave you today with our three school goals for the school year. The process of creating our school goals is a collaborative effort between the School Administrator, the Magee School Leadership Team, the Magee Instructional Leadership Team, and the Citizen Magee Team. We start reviewing survey data and student academic achievement and growth data in the month of March and determine where our biggest need is and how our areas of strength can support growth in those areas. This school year, we have three goals and their focus is around:

  • Academic Excellence (AE)
  • Citizenship and Personal Development (C/PD)
  • Community Relations and Communication (CR/C)

Please see the goal statements below. I will share additional information as to what action steps we are taking to fulfill and meet these goals for this school year.

Academic Excellence Goal Statement (AE)

  • By the end of the 2022-2023 school year, we will see a decrease of 10% in student cohort data that are identified as ‘high risk’ and ‘some risk’ in Reading and Math as measured by the composite score in the appropriate FastBridge assessment from Spring 2022 to Spring 2023.
  • FastBridge Benchmarks:
  • High Risk: Below the 15th percentile
  • Some Risk: 15th - 39th percentile
  • Low Risk: 40th - 99th percentile
  • College Pathway: 86th - 99th percentile

Citizenship and Personal Development Goal Statement (C/PD)

  • By the end of the 2022-2023 school year, we will see an increase in positive student responses to the statement - “student behavior hurts my learning”.  We will see an increase in disagreement and/or strongly disagree from 42.67% to at least 60% as measured by the Kettle Moraine School District - Student Survey.

Community Relations and Communication Goal Statement (CR/C)
