'We Are Magee' Celebrations

Our own Magee Parent and Buss Driver is CBS 58's Hometown Hero!

As a school team, we take moments each and every day to celebrate each other and our learners. We want to also take the time to celebrate our Magee families and community members. If you, your family, or learners have something they want to celebrate with the whole Magee school community, please send a picture and a description to [email protected] and we will add it to this section of the newsletter.

This week, we are going to celebrate Mr. Eli Darling. He was recognized as one of CBS 58's Everyday Heroes and we couldn't be more proud of Eli, his service to the country, and his dedication to make sure our learners get to school and home safely. Thank you, Eli!

We are excited to see and share other celebrations in our community in the weeks to come!

Staff and Learner Celebrations

To celebrate our staff, we have staff shout-outs. These can be filled out at any time and once they are submitted, the front office receives a certificate and the staff member receives the shout-out.

If you have a reason to celebrate one or more of our staff members, please CLICK HERE, complete the form, and submit it. The staff member will receive it shortly after you hit submit!

We also celebrate our learners. Each and every day learners are able to complete shout-outs to be read on our daily announcements.

If you have a reason to celebrate a learner, please CLICK HERE, complete the form and during our morning announcements the shout-out will be read to the whole school!

Weekly Message from Mr. Nies

Happy Friday Magee Families:

Each week, I have been sharing details about our school goals and our action steps to reach those goals. This week, I want to start the process of organizing the Magee Parent Advisory as this is an action step for our school goal around - Community Relations and Communication (CR&C). The created goal statement is:

  • By the end of the 2022-2023, we will see an increase in positive parent responses to the statements - “I regularly receive feedback from staff on how my child is doing” (62.5% to 80%) and “My child is recognized for good work and behaviors at this school” (from 80% to 85%) as measured by the Kettle Moraine School District - Parent/Guardian Survey.

The Magee Parent Advisory will be facilitated by Principal Nies with occasional attendance/facilitation from our Director of Elementary Education Laura Dahm, while including a diverse, collective group of Magee parents.

As you know, The Kettle Moraine School District is dedicated to a vision of "Learning without Boundaries" with a mission defining student achievement as including Academic Excellence, along with Citizenship and Personal Development. Our approach to reaching all learners is through student-centered personalized learning. The Advisory focus is around a variety of items around learning and life at Magee Elementary School. This is NOT to address other political or controversial issues in education today.

As an Advisory, we will spend our first meeting creating advisory norms, a purpose, a vision, and goals for the school year. If you are interested in participating as a member of the Magee Parent Advisory, please complete this registration form. The Advisory will be limited to 12 members.

  • Please note that if you are already contributing as an active Magee PTO Board Member, I ask that you do not participate in the Advisory. We value the voice you share and are grateful for your commitment in that role. We are inviting additional parents to have a voice through this Advisory. Keep in mind, part of my principal update at PTO meetings will be sharing what our Advisory discusses and I will seek your input about those discussions at the PTO meetings, bringing back your feedback to the Advisory.

The registration form will close on Thursday, September 29th, 2022, so I can start organizing our meeting dates and our first meeting in October.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me or schedule a time to meet with me: Click Here to Schedule a Meeting with MeHave an amazing weekend!

National Custodian Appreciation Day

Monday, October 3rd is National Custodian Appreciation Day!

Mr. John Beckmann is our Head Custodian at Magee and he is deemed as the superhero of Magee. He is everywhere supporting staff, students, and families while making Magee and the grounds a beautiful place for us to learn. We want to make this day extra special for him.

We hope that you can take time with your learner(s) to draw a picture or to write a letter for Mr. Beckmann thanking him for everything that he does for Magee.

Please have the pictures and/or letters to the front office by September 29th so we can give them to Mr. Beckmann as a gift on October 3rd.

Thank you!
