Happy Friday Magee Families:
We have had a great start to the school year. The last two days have been filled with smiles, laughter, and excitement. We hope your learners have been coming home with excitement as well!
Last week, I shared with you information about some of the professional learning that our staff participated in before the first day of school. I want to share with you the training staff had around play-based learning and the research behind it. There will be two additional professional learning sessions around play-based learning this school year for our Magee staff as well as to all 4K community sites, 4K KM Teachers, and KM Explore staff.
We welcomed a colleague of mine, Dr. Patricia Becker from Cardinal Stritch University, to share her expertise and studies around the positive impact play-based learning has on academic achievement and social skill development in all grade-levels. In the bullet points below, I am sharing with you her slideshow and new resources from NAESP (National Association of Elementary School Principals). When you have time, please feel free to read through the links below.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to schedule a time to meet with me: Click Here to Schedule a Meeting with Me. We wish you an amazing three-day weekend and will see you all on Tuesday, September 6th!
Take Care and Be Well:
