SPIRIT WEEK
The pandemic has made us rethink so many of our "traditional" activities, and Halloween is no exception. This year we will not be bringing costumes to school or having a Halloween parade. Instead, we will be having Spirit Week and classroom activities on the afternoon of October 31. Students should bring an extra snack from home for that time.

Dress alike with a friend or two!

Wacky Wednesday
Get a little bit wacky with mismatched clothes, socks or a hat!

Thankful Thursday
Being thankful for what we have and sharing with others. Dress in orange and black and bring in donations for the Kettle Moraine Food Pantry. Non-perishable, not expired goods (soup, macaroni and cheese, canned spaghetti items, peanut butter or cash) are appreciated. Thank you!

Fun Friday
Wear your PJs or comfy clothes (school appropriate - leave robes and slippers at home!) and bring a snack from home for afternoon classroom fun!
Learning Environment Change
Request Period: October 19-23

The next opportunity to commit to a learning environment in KM schools will occur prior to the second quarter/term, which runs Nov. 9, 2020 through Jan. 22, 2021. A link to a change request form will be shared Oct. 19 and will be open through Oct. 23. Another opportunity to request a change in learning environment will occur in January, with the start of term 3.

If you plan to make a change, please consider the impact a potential quarantine might have on your family in the coming quarter/term and select the correct environment. Due to staffing needs and configurations:

  1. Changes at the elementary level will likely cause reassignment of your child’s teacher and class configuration, regardless of your family's decision. In addition, changes in either direction will not be honored after October 23.
  2. KM will not be able to honor changes at the middle and high school levels from distance learning to face-to-face learning after October 23. 
  3. At the high school level, selecting distance learning may alter your student’s term 2 course selections.

NOTE: This change request form is only necessary if you want to change your environment for the second quarter/term, which begins Nov. 9.

We have already put the money to good use. We have been able to help some families in need and if you have not checked out our festive Butterfly Garden or the harvest decorations in front of school, please do! Staff have enjoyed decorating our spaces for students!

Pack 231 would like to invite all children (5K - 5th grade) interested in joining Cub Scouts for the 2020-2021 calendar year to our informational event.


The Pack meeting will be held at Genesee Town Park (S42W31800 Depot Rd. Waukesha, WI 53189) on Saturday 10/17/2020 @ 11:00am - 1:00pm. 

Come see what scouting is all about! CDC guidelines will be followed - please bring a mask. If you are unable to attend but would like more information please contact Tim Rodwell at 414-688-9246.
Dear KM Families, 

The Department of Public Instruction released news that USDA Reimbursable Meals will continue through the end of 2020 or until available funds run out. The Kettle Moraine School District looks forward to participating in this program for both our face-to-face and distance learning students. As we work to ensure that our serving process meets USDA and DPI requirements, we ask for your patience and support. 

Face-to-Face Students   
If your child purchases individual items without a fruit/vegetable or milk, they will be charged for the item(s) as this purchase does not qualify for reimbursement. To ensure that your child gets a free meal, they will need to ensure that they have taken all of the components of a reimbursable meal. KMSD Nutrition Services staff will be on hand to remind your child(ren) if they do not have all of the components of a reimbursable meal.     

SECONDS and EXTRA MILK will continue to be made available for purchase at a cost to the student/family - they are NOT free. Please NOTE: At the elementary level: Milk for cold lunch students is not part of this program and will be charged to the student account.

KM Wrestling Club-
The KM Wrestling Club will be having an informational meeting via zoom on October 21. You can join us at 7pm at

KM Wrestling is open to anyone in grades K-8. The season will begin in December for grades 4-8 and in January for K-3. Practices are M/W at KM High School. Registration is open online Here
