A Message from Principal Nies

Hello, Magee Families:
I wanted to share an update with you. Starting next Thursday, March 10th, 2022, I will be taking an extended leave of absence. My spouse is having a major spinal surgery with three spinal discs being replaced in the neck. I will need to be home for part of the recovery period. Right now, the plan is that I will be out from March 10th - March 27th, with a pending return date of March 28th, 2022. While I am out, District Administration will be here as my substitute.

GET READY FOR SUMMER ACADEMY
  • Summer Academy dates: June 20-July 29 (no classes 7/4)
  • Summer Academy hours: 8 a.m. to 12:35 p.m.
  • New for 2022: Courses for grades 5K-8 will be broken into two sessions each three weeks long. Families will still be able to sign up for all six weeks or choose to only do one session. 
  • Location: Wales Elementary and Kettle Moraine High School Campus
  • Registration opens via I.C. at 8 a.m on March 15
  • Registration closes on I.C. at 6 a.m. on March 17
  • Schedules posted on I.C. at 9 a.m. on March 18
  • Registration reopens March 18 at 9 a.m.

Yearbook ordering has begun! Please place your orders for the 2021-2022 school year by clicking on the link below. Each yearbook costs $12.00.

Magee Reading Challenge
This week you will receive information from your child(ren)'s classroom teacher about a reading challenge we are participating in. This is sponsored by the Lake Country DockHounds. If your child(ren) reach the set goal for reading in their classroom, you will receive a free ticket to a Lake Country DockHounds baseball game this Summer.

Our teachers also get a free ticket to the June 21st Teacher Appreciation Game where they will be recognized for their continued work in the classroom.

Spring Book Fair has begun!

The book fair is in full swing. Stop on by to check out the amazing selection we have for purchase. Also, remember our coins for a cause penny wars is raising money for the Hoover Hause All Dog Rescue. The class who raises the most money will get to tape Mr. Nies to a wall!

At Magee Elementary School, we welcome our open enrollment families with open arms. Over 30% of our families open enroll to attend Magee Elementary School. That speaks so highly of our teachers, our families, and our culture we have built. Please note that if you are open enrolled at Magee or know of anyone who would like to open enroll, open enrollment begins on February 7th, 2022 with the application period closing at 4:00 PM on April 29th, 2022. Jr. Laser Football Fall 2022
Registration is now open for Jr. Laser Football for the fall season.  Anyone interested in playing flag football for grades K-4 and tackle football for grades 5-8 are encouraged to sign up.  Registration deadline is April 1.  Sign up online at www.kettlemorainelaserfootball.com

Fall Select Volleyball Boys and girls in grades 5-8
Boys and girls interested in participating in the fall WYVL fall of 2022 select volleyball program are asked to register at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfpluJg4dig2HpZa1jrKrqEvBg3KumuEf_aJIY9ElQ_TUGNDQ/viewform
Coach Shane Peterson from the high school coordinates this program.  Practices are twice per week with league play on weekends at the Sting Center or New Berlin Sportsplex.  Fees are approximately $200. Tryouts will be held in May.
 
Jr. Laser Open gym Cheerleading Opportunity
All current 5th, 6th and 7th graders are invited to open gym for KMJL Cheer.  This is for those who might be thinking of joining our team for the Fall of 2022 or those who want to get some extra work in.  There will be two dates of open gym 3/7/22 and 4/6/22 from 4-5:30pm.  We will cover motion technique, jumps, tumbling and maybe a little stunting.  Register online at https://kmsd.revtrak.net/rwcommunityeducation/
 
Summer Volleyball Camps
