A Message from Principal Nies
03/04/2022

Hello, Magee Families:
I wanted to share an update with you. Starting next Thursday, March 10th, 2022, I will be taking an extended leave of absence. My spouse is having a major spinal surgery with three spinal discs being replaced in the neck. I will need to be home for part of the recovery period. Right now, the plan is that I will be out from March 10th - March 27th, with a pending return date of March 28th, 2022. While I am out, District Administration will be here as my substitute.

Here are the dates and who will be covering while I am out:
March 10: Chief Financial Officer John Stellmacher
March 11: Director of Elementary Education Laura Dahm
March 14: High School Associate Principal Jen Balzer
March 15: Assistant Superintendent Theresa Ewald
March 16: Director of Elementary Education Laura Dahm
March 17: Staff Attorney and Director of Human Resources Kristi Foy
March 18: Director of Elementary Education Laura Dahm

March 19th - March 27th is Spring Break

While District Administration is here, we will also have the support of our amazing Teachers-in-Charge:
  • Laurel Hopkins: Instructional Coach/Reading Specialist
  • Natasha Hanson: Director of Learning Art Education K-12 and Magee Art Teacher
  • Shannon Kiesgen: Special Education Teacher

I will be periodically checking my email, but will not be able to respond immediately. If there is something that needs to be addressed in a timely manner, I ask that you reach out to the main office so those filling in for me can support your need. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility. Have a great weekend.

Take Care and Be Well,

Mr. Justin S. Nies
