Genius Hour at Magee
Students in 4/5 just finished up working on Genius Hour projects. They determined what they wanted to learn more about, did the research, created a product and or presentation and shared with their peers. AWESOME WORK!!! In the picture to the right, one student is helping another finish the blanket she was sewing for her project. #EngineerKind #KMKind
Souper Bowl
It is time for Magee’s 7th annual Souper Bowl food drive. Magee students have their own friendly competition the week before the Super Bowl. During the week of February 1-5, students are invited to bring in non-perishable food items and to place them in boxes designated for either the Kansas City Chiefs or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
At the end of the week, all the items will be counted. The team with the most ”points” will win Magee’s Souper Bowl.
The food pantry continues to need canned fruits and vegetables, nuts, coffee, baby food, cereal, and canned meat.
Thank you very much for considering and keeping this Magee tradition!
News from PE - Kids Heart Challenge
We are so excited to be partnering with the American Heart Association for our Kids Heart Challenge event. During the weeks starting February 1st, our students will be working on their jump roping skills and developing their overall fitness by increasing their heart rate.
As part of the event, you can raise funds for the American Heart Association (through February 19th). Below, check out Mr. Staver's video and links on how to submit donations online.
There are many “thank you gifts” that your child and class may be interested in, but our main goal is to raise funds to help improve heart research and help those in need. Classes will be working together to raise donations and all students in class will receive the same “thank you gift”. Any questions feel free to contact Mr. Staver.

Traffic Flow
Thank you so much for using the cross walk! It is much safer in the parking lot. As we work to keep traffic flowing at the end of the day, please remember to pull up when possible. When we have gaps in the line, it can lead to unsafe back ups on Hwy. 83. We are also working on the inside of the building to have students ready to go and walking with a purpose to the car pick up zone!

WISCONSIN WEATHER

This is especially important because classrooms are in separate areas of the playground each day. All but one area include the blacktop. In order to keep our cohorts in the different areas, students need to be ready to be out! When there is more snow, boots and snowpants will be necessary. Thank you for your support of the work we are doing at school to mitigate the spread of Covid!

Please help your children layer for the unpredictable
Wisconsin weather at this time of the year!

WHEN students leave home and the outdoor temperature is less than 50, they should be wearing something that covers their legs - leggings, pants, jeans, shorts/skirts with tights or leggings AND have AT LEAST two layers to wear outside. Hats and gloves are also important to send with your child.

Students are outside for a minimum of 30 minutes a day. In the event of a drill or emergency, students need to have enough clothing to be warm outside. It is easy to tie layers around their waist as opposed to being cold without enough to put on.

Thank you for your support!!
