What?
My Child is Quarantined?
When our learners/classrooms are quarantined at home, it is a decision made in conjunction with the Waukesha Health Department and our KMSD Nursing Staff based on exposure to a positive case of COVID-19.
We take the decision to quarantine seriously and ask that you do the same to mitigate the spread both in and out of our school.
When learners or a classroom are sent home to quarantine, this means they need to stay home, not go in public places, gymnastics, basketball, restaurants, playdates/sleepovers with classmates, visit extended family, etc.
Symptoms can develop ANYTIME within the 14 days or the learner can be asymptomatic and spread the virus without knowing it.
If learners develop symptoms while in quarantine, please contact your health care provider AND please notify Magee as soon as possible.
As we have learned along the way this year, the more information we can communicate the better. Also, please know we are here to help and support.
QUARANTINE 101 contains more information regarding learning during quarantine.

DRY HAND ALERT!
Some of our students are struggling with dry hands. Please encourage students to use soap and water whenever possible and to use hand lotion at home.
IF you need to send hand lotion for your child to keep in their backpack, please make sure it is unscented. THANK YOU!

WISCONSIN WEATHER
Please help your children layer for the unpredictable
Wisconsin weather at this time of the year!
WHEN students leave home and the temperature is less than 50, they should be wearing something that covers their legs - leggings, pants, jeans, shorts/skirts with tights or leggings AND have AT LEAST two layers to wear outside. Hats and gloves are also important to send with your child.
Students are outside for a minimum of 30 minutes a day. In the event of a drill or emergency, students need to have enough clothing to be warm outside. It is easy to tie layers around their waist as opposed to being cold without enough to put on.
We are in for a stretch of up and down weather, thank you for your support!!

MAGEE KINDNESS ROCKS
The Magee PTO has started a Kindness Rock Project. They will be creating and hiding rocks for families to hunt for. Look for them on Facebook at Magee Kindness Rocks. When families find them, there is a bin outside of the school office for students to bring them in. The rocks will be used to line the paths in the Butterfly Garden. What a great way to spread kindness and beautify our butterfly garden! Happy Hunting!
