Magic on Main's Holiday World Tour Events
NEW IBERIA, La. (November 15, 2017) -- Get ready to travel around Iberia Parish with a myriad of Magic on Main holiday events for the whole family during November and December.

November

Isle of Iberia kicks off the festivities on Nov. 18 with a Cookoff featuring Santa Claus. Find unique gifts for your loved ones at Believe in the Berry Shopping Experience on Main Street New Iberia (Nov. 16), Shop Small Day (Nov. 25) and Iberia Parish's farmers markets (for dates, visit IberiaTravel.com ). Storefront windows will display festive holiday themed decor in the style of New York City department store windows like Bergdorf Goodman or Bloomingdale's during Window Wonderland from Nov. 28 - Dec. 31.

We'll end the month with Sounds of the Season , a free Christmas concert by the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra (Nov. 26).

December

Come December, Iberia Parish has a multitude of events planned to make this holiday season memorable.

Travel to the Victorian Era when you tour the Joseph Jefferson Home decorated for the holidays at Jefferson Island Rip Van Winkle Gardens (Dec. 1- Jan. 5). Beginning Dec. 2, Shadows-on-the-Teche will be celebrating in a similar fashion with "merry making" tours. The home will be decorated in 19th century holiday style and tours will focus on family celebrations of the time.

The Iberia Performing Arts League will perform its Christmas musical " A USO Christmas Show ," which will be dedicated to veterans from World War II to the present and bring back the nostalgia of the 40s and 50s with classic Christmas tunes and humorous performances (Nov. 30-Dec. 3). Teche Classic Movies will present “ It’s A Wonderful Life ” at the Essanee Theater (Dec. 21) and Hugo Kringle will sing Christmas songs and tell stories at the Iberia Parish Library (Dec. 22). "It's The Most Wonderful Night on Main Gala" will take place that same day at the Sliman Theater.

On Dec. 8, “A Southern Sleigh Ride” starting at Shadows on the Teche will travel through New Iberia's historic district in horse drawn carriages.

The New Iberia Downtown Business Association will present the Magic on Main Christmas Parade on Dec. 9. Holiday goers can enjoy “Believe in the Berry” events throughout the day starting at 7 a.m., including a Christmas themed breakfast, the Teche Area Farmers Market , crafts, food trucks , musical performances, lighting of the community Christmas tree, the Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce's Very Berry Christmas Community Quest , the Shadows on the Teche Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair , and Shop Berry Frozen deals at participating merchants. The Jeanerette Holiday Market will also be held that day at the city's park and Tabasco will hold “ A Taste of Christmas ” on Avery Island.

Santa Sightings

With an abundance of Christmas parades happening around Iberia Parish, the kiddos will have ample opportunities to see the jolly man. Santa Claus makes his first sightings during the Delcambre Seafood and Farmers Market at Bayou Carlin Cove and the lighted Delcambre Christmas Boat Parade followed by fireworks in the evening (Dec. 2). On Dec. 3, the jolly man will follow the magical elf trail to the Jeanerette Christmas Parade . before guest staring at the Delcambre Main Street Christmas Parade (Dec. 10). Santa will also be on hand for pictures at the Blessing New Iberia Community Christmas on Dec. 16.
