Iceland with Viking Cruises

This summer, Stacey had the privilege of hosting a Magnolia Miles Travel group aboard the Viking Mars on Viking’s Iceland’s Natural Beauty itinerary. Each day revealed a landscape more breathtaking than the last. From cascading waterfalls and towering cliffs to black sand beaches, colorful fishing villages, and glaciers stretching beyond the horizon, Iceland proved to be a destination unlike anywhere else in the world.

The ship then made its way to Djúpivogur, a peaceful fishing village known for its beautiful coastal setting, rich birdlife, and artistic charm. With dramatic mountains rising behind the town, it offered a quieter and more relaxed glimpse into life along Iceland’s eastern coast.

The final port of call was Heimaey, a small island forever shaped by volcanic eruptions and now home to one of the world’s largest Atlantic puffin colonies. Visitors explored dramatic coastlines while learning the remarkable story of a community that rebuilt after nature forever changed its landscape.

The voyage then returned to Reykjavík, bringing the journey full circle.

What made this trip so special was not only the spectacular scenery but also the opportunity to experience Iceland at a comfortable pace. Every port offered something entirely different, yet each reflected the country’s incredible beauty, fascinating history, and warm hospitality.
