MMCH Leaps Ahead

Maimonides Midwood Community Hospital has earned a 2023 Leapfrog Safety Grade of “B." Of the nearly 3,000 general acute-care hospitals graded by The Leapfrog Group, just 24% earned a “B” grade. Maimonides Medical Center has successfully maintained a C grade on Leapfrog, amidst struggles with staffing shortages, which was a new metric evaluated in this current grade. This is a true testament to the substantial effort and determination invested to sustain our performance and ongoing commitment to quality. Congratulations to all!

Good Cred

Surveyors from The Joint Commission and the American College of Surgeons recently toured four Maimonides clinical care centers, and all received very positive reviews by the teams that toured our facilities. The review process strengthens community confidence in the quality and safety of care we provide. Let's hear it for everyone at the Maimonides Cancer Center, the Trauma Division of the Department of Surgery, the Jaffe Comprehensive Stroke Center at Maimonides, and the Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) Program!

The commendation ceremony, which was held at the NYS Museum in Albany, honored the victims and the first responders to the accident.
