Governor's Small Business Webinar Series
The Importance of Business Planning

About: This Governor's Small Business Webinar will introduce the components of a business plan and various aspects of business development. As we begin National Write a Business Plan Month, this live presentation will provide critical information for outlining business goals, whether you're starting a new business or expanding an existing one. Danny Brewer, Business Coach and Trainer with the City of Austin Small Business Division, will present on this crucial component for business success. Bastrop River of Lights
Now until December 31st, take in the River of Lights, numerous lighted displays in a variety of seasonal themes lining Bastrop's scenic June Hill Pape River Walk. To access this one-half mile promenade, come down the stairs west of the intersection of Main and Pine Streets or select the fully accessible entrance at Fisherman's Park on Farm Street. 
Rented Christmas, The Musical
A middle-aged bachelor and prominent businessman has a challenging job for a proprietor of the local rent shop. He wants to rent a Christmas, not just with a tree and Christmas carols, but complete with a wife, a family, and all of the happiness for which he has been secretly longing.

Rendezvous Holiday Party

Join the Bastrop County Historical Society on Friday, December 10, 2021 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM for the annual gala to celebrate the Holiday Homes Tour. We'll party into the night and enjoy heavy appetizers and an open bar. This celebration is open to the public and will be sure to dazzle. Admission is $100 per person.
Holidays Homes Tour

Join the Bastrop County Historical Society on Saturday December 11, 2021,12:00 PM - 5:00 PM for the annual Holiday Homes Tour. Go inside five historic homes and one church. Docents will be available at each home to offer tours. $20 tickets are on sale at the Visitor Center and Museum of Bastrop County.
Library's Annual Holiday Open House
Join in the holiday cheer at the Bastrop Public Library’s Holiday Open House on December 11, 2021 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM! Graham-cracker house decorating: Join in this fun tradition and have your kids decorate a graham-cracker house at the library. The Library will provide the supplies, and the kids bring the creativity! There will be limited seating available throughout the day. No reservations required.
Downtown Open House - Candy Cane Lane
Join us on December 11, 2021, 10:00AM until 4:00 PM for the Bastrop Main Street Downtown Open House on Candy Cane Lane!! You will find festive activities like refreshments, holiday spirits, great unique gift ideas, smiling faces and a chance to win!! Participants will follow Candy Cane Lane and visit designated locations to get their maps stamped. Get 10 stamps and the map becomes your entry to win the grand prize! It’s going to be a great day downtown!
LOST PINES CHRISTMAS PARADE
Bastrop’s fanciful, fantastic, fun—and even famous—annual Lost Pines Christmas Parade will light up the night skies as it makes its way down Main Street on Saturday, December 11th.
 
Line up and registration begins at 4 p.m.; the parade begins to roll at 6 p.m. sharp!
"But Where Do I Park?"
Lots of folks will be downtown on Saturday the 11th for the 2021 Lost Pines Christmas Lighted Christmas Parade, but that's not the only spot to see all the Christmas magic!

Here's a parking cheat sheet to help you find the best spot to park anywhere along the route!

  • Any of the City Parking Lots
  • Bastrop County Courthouse
  • Bastrop Convention Center
  • Film Alley
  • Street parking anywhere marked in green on the map

A big THANK YOU to Film Alley and Bastrop County for the use of their parking lots for parade attendees! 
PARADE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The City of Bastrop is in need of volunteers to help the with Lost Pines Christmas Parade on Dec. 11th. We need 2 volunteers to help with staging of the floats at Bastrop High School from 2:00 PM until 8:30 PM. 

The Bastrop Police Department need 3 additional volunteers to help. They need 1 person to help man the missing person’s tent. The missing person area will be located at the post office. The other 2 would be assisting with barricade control at various intersections, with an officer. Briefing for the event will be at 5 pm at the PD on Dec. 11th.
