All signs are prohibited in the City Limits and the Extraterritorial unless constructed, maintained, structurally altered, or improved by a valid City permit and authorized under the City of Bastrop's B3 Code.
|
|
Blade Signs are permitted only for businesses that have a Principal Entrance on the first Story. One Blade Sign for each Business if the Facade is no more than 5 feet from the Principal Frontage Line. Blade Signs may encroach into the Public Frontage up to 4 feet, clear the Sidewalk by at least 8 feet, and not encroach above the bottom of any second Story windows. Blade Signs are limited to the name and/or Logo of the Business.

- Blade may be double-sided.
- Businesses that have a Secondary Frontage line that is no more than 2 feet from the Facade shall be permitted 1 additional blade Sign on that Facade.
- Text and graphics on the Blade Sign shall be limited to the name and/or Logo of the Business. Slogans, address labels, operating hours and contact information shall not be permitted.
- Mounting hardware, such as supports and brackets, may be simple and unobtrusive or highly decorative, but shall complement the design of the Sign, the Building, or both.
- For buildings with multiple Signs, mounting hardware or Sign shapes, sizes and colors shall be Coordinated

Now until December 31st, take in the River of Lights, numerous lighted displays in a variety of seasonal themes lining Bastrop's scenic June Hill Pape River Walk. To access this one-half mile promenade, come down the stairs west of the intersection of Main and Pine Streets or select the fully accessible entrance at Fisherman's Park on Farm Street.

"A Country Christmas" at the Farm Street Opry

Today, December 2nd, come celebrate "A Country Christmas" at the Farm Street Opry at the Bastrop Convention Center. You'll enjoy family-friendly musical performances featuring local Texas talent and special guest performers. Doors open at 5:30 PM and the show starts at 7:00 PM, with a special guest appearance by Santa himself..

Rented Christmas, The Musical
|
A middle-aged bachelor and prominent businessman has a challenging job for a proprietor of the local rent shop. He wants to rent a Christmas, not just with a tree and Christmas carols, but complete with a wife, a family, and all of the happiness for which he has been secretly longing.

Main Event First Friday Artwalk
|
There’s a Mini Music Festival on Friday, December 3rd & Saturday, December 4th in downtown Bastrop. Kick off the art weekend during the First Friday Artwalk followed by visiting the downtown music venues. It’s free! But don’t forget to tip the band and enjoy the evening with a drink from these fine establishments.

On Sat. December 4th at 8:30 am, Mina Elementary will have a 3.1 mile run/walk at Fisherman's park. The Run This Town 5K/1K Event is a fundraiser for Mina Elementary School and is open to the public!

Events on Main Market Days

Come out and shop December 4th from 10am-5pm and support our local shops and artisans. Vendors will be located in front of Main Street's historic buildings on our beautiful new sidewalks. Don’t forget to save the date and look forward to seeing you there!

Holidays at the Art Center & Art After Dark
|
The Lost Pines Art Center is hosting an all-day Art Bazaar from 11-6, featuring handmade gifts and affordable art work, just in time for the holidays! Bring the kiddos to enjoy hands-on activities while you shop.
Then, that evening, they have a special holiday edition of Art After Dark from 6-8pm. Meet local artists, and drink in beautiful Spanish guitar by David Córdoba. Complementary refreshments and wassail will be on hand. See the new Art Squared Show, and new Members Art work in the main gallery! Admission all day is free.

Bastrop County African American Cultural Center Open House
|
On Sat. December 4th noon until 4:00 PM, there will be an open house for the Bastrop County African American Cultural Center at the Kerr Community Center.
|

LOST PINES CHRISTMAS PARADE
|
|
|
Bastrop’s fanciful, fantastic, fun—and even famous—annual Lost Pines Christmas Parade will light up the night skies as it makes its way down Main Street on Saturday, December 11th.
As in the past, there are no participation fees or pre-registration required; register as you arrive at check-in and line up for the parade, at the staging point on the north side of Bastrop High School.
Line up and registration begins at 4 p.m.; the parade begins to roll at 6 p.m. sharp!

The City of Bastrop is in need of volunteers to help the with Lost Pines Christmas Parade on Dec. 11th. We need 4 volunteers to help with staging of the floats at Bastrop High School from 2:00 PM until 8:30 PM.
The Bastrop Police Department need 6 additional volunteers to help. They need 1 person to help man the missing person’s tent. The missing person area will be located at the post office. The other five would be assisting with barricade control at various intersections, with an officer. Briefing for the event will be at 5 pm at the PD on Dec. 11th.
