DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and to recognize the staggering statistics surrounding violence in the home and with intimate partners the City of Bastrop will be going purple. Join us as we honor this cause by turning on purple lights in support of these survivors.

ECABS PASSENGER SURVEY

The Electric Cab (eCab) team is seeking feedback from Bastrop residents and visitors regarding the service (whether they've used the service or not) since the summer of 2021.

Previous feedback has resulted in changes to the eCab service, so the survey responses are impactful!

Also, the eCab shuttle service has been funded by the US Department of Energy, and they would like to know what our community thinks of the service.  Please take a few moments to complete the survey by clicking the button below.

Do you have the best Wassail?

This year's Wassail Fest will be on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 11am until 3pm. There will be a live Polka Band located outside of the Bastrop Museum and Visitor Center. But, most importantly, Wassail Fest involves a friendly competition among our Downtown Businesses on who can make the best house wassail recipe, which of course is voted on by the public. This year there will be two winners - Best 2022 Wassail Recipe Restaurant and Best 2022 Wassail Recipe Retail.

If you're asking, "What is wassail?" Wassail is a beverage made from hot mulled cider and spices. You may choose to serve your wassail with or without alcohol or provide both options. The choice is entirely yours. There are many ways to make it, so start perfecting your recipe now!! Winners will be presented a signature trophy to showcase and brag all year long!

Please let us know if you plan to participate by November 7, 2022 by emailing Candice Butts at cbutts@cityofbastrop.org
