Sponsor Feature
Charlevoix County Community Foundation

The 2019 Live on the Lake summer concert series was made possible by the Charlevoix County Community Foundation and their acknowledgement in how important arts and culture are to a community. With their grant funding, we were able to host an entertaining and educational lineup of shows in East Park.

The Charlevoix County Community Foundation aims to enhance the quality of life for all citizens of Charlevoix County, now and for generations to come. Addressing needs in the community through grant-making, the Foundation’s grant focus areas include environment and land use, scholarships, community project support, student access, geographic enrichment, youth needs, and support sustainability.

Along with supporting the Live on the Lake concert series, the Charlevoix County Community Foundation grants have also supported the purchase of Wayfinding Signage and a Waste/Recycling Disposal Unit for downtown Charlevoix.
Business Spotlight
The Mercado in Van Pelt Alley
It wasn’t long ago that Van Pelt Alley was quiet and in need of some improvements. Luther Kurtz had a vision of how to improve the alleyway, his idea was to create The Mercado . If you visit today, you will immediately notice a vibrant alleyway full of people, music, stores, and so much more. The Mercado hosts a variety of family friendly events, street performers, and more. If you walk by on a summer night, you will see people enjoying this once neglected alleyway.

We (Charlevoix Main Street - CMS) sat down with Edith. to talk about the business. Click the link below to read this month's blog feature!

Sarah and Jean are proven leaders in our community and volunteer with Main Street to help make the Live on the Lake Summer Concert Series the fantastic, free entertainment we've learned to rely on.
