Take the Survey

Right now, we're in the design phase of this project. We have choices to make about where to locate parking and loading, and we want to hear from you.

We have divided the project area into sections to review layout options:

  • Sidney Street Extension to Windsor Street (two options)
  • Windsor Street to Portland Street (three options)
  • Main Street/Sidney Street Extension/Massachusetts Avenue intersection (two options)

In this survey, we'll show you the design options for these two sections and ask for feedback.

After we gather feedback, we will draft a single preferred design, present it to the community, and solicit final feedback. We will consider all feedback we receive, not just survey responses.

We plan to close the survey on Friday, July 7.

About the Project

The Main Street Safety Improvement Project will add separated bike lanes on Main Street between Massachusetts Avenue/Lafayette Square and Portland Street.

As part of this project, we will:

  • Install separated bike lanes in both directions, adding to the City's network of separated bike lanes.
  • Improve existing crosswalks.
  • Remove a significant number of parking spaces in the project area and consider changes to parking regulations in the spots that remain.
  • Address safety at key intersections.
