Board of Director Actions

The following are among the actions at the December 13, 2023, Maine Listings Board of Directors meeting:

1.     Approved the recommendations of the Policy and Procedures Committee which included:

a.   Revision to the Rules and Regulations – Section 1 Listings Procedures: Remove the language “after all necessary signatures of the sellers(s) have been obtained” and replace it with “of the agreement date”

b.   Revision to the Rules and Regulations – Section 1.3(b) Agent/Agency Promotion: add Open House Comments to fields that should not display agent/agency promotion.

c.    Approved the recommendation to have “vacant” set as a private field in the commercial property type.

2.    Approved a 1-year renewal of the ListHub syndication agreement.

Sales Reporting



Don't Forget ... when reporting the sale of a listing, please ensure all information is updated in the listing prior to changing the listing to the Closed status. The listing should have accurate and complete information regarding the final house style, number of rooms, square footage, additional features, etc. If there is any further information that would assist other agents or appraisers in understanding the changes made to a listing, please add comments in the Internal Remarks field prior to changing the listing to the Closed status. Get to Know the Rules



Each week we cover a different section of the Maine Listings Rules and Regulations as a quick refresher. This week, we are covering Section 18.3.8 Display.

In summary, Section 18.3.8 states: The Maine IDX Logo together with the following notice must appear on all search results* and details pages of the participant’s IDX website and displays:

a) “Listing data is derived in whole or in part from the Maine IDX and is for consumers' personal, noncommercial use only. Dimensions are approximate and not guaranteed. All data should be independently verified. © (current year) Maine Real Estate Information System, Inc. All Rights Reserved.”

b) The Maine IDX Logo and disclaimer shall appear at the bottom of all listing pages containing Maine IDX data.

How Do I Register For a Training Class?

Go to MaineListings.com and Log into your Member Portal. Go to the Education tab (top). Select Upcoming Courses. Select your desired class. Click the green Register button.
