LCTV News June 1, 2022

Hello {First Name},

Happy one-year anniversary to this little newsletter, and welcome to our newest subscribers. We love sharing all our shows and events, and helping to promote the good work of our community partners, sponsors and friends.

Speaking of community, have you been over to the fish ladders in Bristol and Damariscotta Mills yet? The annual early June alewives run is a celebration for fishing birds (like these seagulls), predator fish, future generations of alewives, the Damariscotta Lake watershed ecosystem, bait for fishermen, eye candy for photographers, and a delight for visitors.

All that bounty doesn't mean that things come easy. It's a lot like LCTV - when we work together, we can accomplish great things. (Like this lucky seagull in this short video.)

June 12 Fundraiser Concert Coming Right Up

Our June 12 fundraiser with A Brother's Revival is less than 2 weeks away. Have you ordered your tickets online or in person at Main Street Grocery? You'll save $5 off the day-of price. Gates open at 2pm for the 4pm show - more details below.

We're bowled over by the outpouring of support from our business sponsors: Ames True Value Hardware, Bangor Savings Bank, Elevation Station, LincolnHealth, Renys, the Cod Cove Inn, and new since last week, Morse Sauerkraut and Mid-coast Energy Systems.

Updated June 12 Sponsors.jpg

Please let them know you appreciate their support for LCTV and our services for our community. If you hurry, you can join in as a Concert Sponsor - just reach out to Lang Sheppard at Lang@LCTV.org. As thanks, you'll receive a pair of complementary tickets to both our June 12 and June 28 shows and other benefits.

Citizen Access to Our Public Officials

Bellows_headshot.jpg

It's another week of ensuring citizen access to local government - including one-on-one candidate conversations and municipal meetings.

On Sunday night at 7:00pm, we’re immensely proud to offer a special show with Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows called “Defending Our Democracy.” Or watch right now.

This Friday and Saturday, Marva Nesbit will bring us two more candidate conversations before the June 14 elections: Maine State Representative House District 48 candidate Tom Maroney (Friday at 7:00pm) and incumbent Representative Holly Stover (Saturday at 6:00pm). Both shows will be available for On Demand viewing this weekend on LCTV.org and our Facebook page. (Give us a follow if you haven't already.)

This is in addition to our ongoing municipal meeting broadcasts each weekday at 4pm. See below for links to new meetings from Damariscotta, Newcastle, and Waldoboro, archived for On Demand anytime viewing at LCTV.org.

Keeping You In Touch with Community and Business Leaders

We're sending a big LCTV thank you to the fine folks at the Rotary Club of Damariscotta-Newcastle for the invite to join you yesterday morning. It was a fun way to start the day and share what we've been up to and plans for the future.

On Saturday, we air our monthly "What's Happening at the Y" check-in with our friends at the Central Lincoln County YMCA. Host Sally Farrell is doing a great job! Followed by a new Talkin' Town Talk with Dennis Hilton, president of Cheney Insurance.

Sneak peek: next week we're starting a new bi-monthly Chamber Chat with our friends at the Boothbay Region Chamber of Commerce

Please reach out if you'd like us to meet with your organization, and talk about how we can work together.

Lincoln Academy Graduation 2022

It's Graduation 2022 Week for Lincoln Academy. We know how important it is for family far and near to see their young people graduate, so we will be live streaming Wednesday's Baccalaureate March and Ceremony  at 7:00pm and Thursday's Commencement/ Graduation Ceremony at 4:00pm. Please tune in by clicking on the boxes below, or finding our livestream on our Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Many thanks to Lincoln Academy for asking us to partner with them for these community events. If you'd like us to help you film or live stream your organization's events, please reach out.

We're here to serve our community. Give us a call at 563-6338, send an email, or stop by the station at 29 Sheepscot Rd in Newcastle.

Thanks for watching,

Larry Sidelinger
