Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EarthDay.org including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries. The official theme for 2023 is "Invest In Our Planet".

Happy spring!

Each April, we celebrate the anniversary of the agency. April 17th marks the 15th anniversary of OEI! We are excited to celebrate all of these amazing years of providing services throughout the state of Maine. We will celebrate together on April 17-21 with our “Spirit Week” festivities.

The OEI team and participants are also choosing to meet the OEI 20-week wellness challenge! Stay tuned!

Employee Highlight

Patti was hired in June of 2013 and is approaching her 10 year anniversary at OEI. She began her employment as an Administrative Assistant and is now the Executive Assistant. As the Executive Assistant, her job duties include a little bit of everything like onboarding new hires, file audits, reporting to OSHA and teaching Safety Care trainings. Patti is hard working and will take on any project the agency throws her way. She is always a listening ear for her coworkers when they are having a rough day and will go out of her way to cheer them up. She is the first to jump in and help when a crisis arises. She is a truly valued member of the OEI family. Thanks for all you do!
