Statement from OEI CEO, Christine Vincent:

"I think we can all take a collective sigh of relief that this tragic event is now in the rearview mirror. Whether you were directly or indirectly connected to any of the victims, the wounded, or their families, we were all affected by the loss of our sense of safety living in ME. Even though the worst is past I wanted to remind everyone to check in with those who may be struggling, be kind, and use the resources available both at OEI and the larger state should you need professional guidance. This is unchartered territory for us all and we will need to lean on each other to get through it. Thanks again to those employees who kept things going over the past several days. We have an amazing team of dedicated individuals who never cease to amaze me during times of crisis. Stay safe and reach out if you need anything, Chris"

* There are many resources available for those who feel the need to speak to someone. Our insurance carrier provides a confidential, 24/7 EAP. The state of ME also has 2 crisis lines: 1-888-568-1112 or 988 if that would be helpful. Please check in with each other, be kind, and reach out if you need support.

We've been keeping a close eye on our equine friends' favorite foods, and the results are in! After observing their eating habits, we've found that apples and carrots are by far the most popular treats among our horses.

Visiting Branson, Missouri, and checking out Its 76 Country Boulevard which is famously lined with theaters, that once hosted mostly country music performers but today present diverse entertainment. Also along the strip are the Marvel Cave, the Wild West-style Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede Dinner Attraction, and Silver Dollar City, an 1800s-themed amusement park with live music, and more! So much FUN!

This month we would like to highlight Suhan Mohamed. Suhan works as a direct support professional as part of our residential services team. Suhan has worked for the agency for just shy of 6 months and in this short time she has made a major impact on the team and the individuals she supports. She is truly a team player. She goes above and beyond and never hesitates to jump in and pick up extra hours. She is always willing to take on extra tasks and responsibilities. Suhan is kind to others and has a great sense of humor. She brightens the day of those around her and always puts a smile on the faces of the individuals she supports. Thank you Suhan for your hard work, dedication, and most importantly for the kindness you demonstrate on a daily basis. We are proud to call you a member of the OEI Family.

October Recap:

We are pleased to announce that the non-perishable food and essential items drive we held in October for families in our local domestic violence shelters was a great success. We want to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to this worthy cause. Your donations will go a long way in helping those in need and making a difference in our community. We are proud to have such a generous and compassionate team, and we look forward to continuing to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
