Dear families,

I hope this finds you well under these unexpected circumstances. As we continue to receive the latest updates from state and local authorities, we are doing our best to adapt our procedures and support one another.  For the most recent information from the County of Marin Department of Health and Human Services Shelter in Place Order, click here . Additionally, this FAQ section provides guidance on many common questions.

Academic Distance Learning
Our distance learning program launched this week. Middle school students received grade level instructions and primary students are scheduled to start their program on Wednesday. We also handed out iPads and work bags to those preschool and primary families that were able to make it to campus today. We know that there will be kinks to be ironed out along the way and appreciate your patience and partnership. If you have questions or feedback, please feel free to reach out to your division directors or me.

Maintaining Connections
We recognize that social emotional learning and relationships are key to kids’ well-being and growth. Not only are we working on distance learning programs within the academic framework, but are also developing opportunities for them to maintain relationships through digital interaction. At a time when we need the support of our community, the concept of social distancing can feel challenging and ironic. All of us at MP&MS are here to support you in any way we can during this unsettling time.

We are sending good thoughts that everyone stays healthy. If you or anyone in your family receives a positive test result for COVID-19, please reach out to us so we can work together, alongside the department of public health, to keep our community informed and safe.

Navigating the challenges that come with slowing the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) will require us to support each other with compassion and understanding. Thank you for being such an incredible community.

Take care,
Andrew
