Dear Friends,

It has been heartening to join together with members of our community each evening for ma'ariv and a check-in. It was inspiring to watch Ms. Ellie teaching 54 families (teachers in our ECC and families with young children) Pesach songs yesterday. Our youngest members seem to have no difficulty following along and doing the hand motions with their teacher!

A few quick up dates:

  1. My session on Psalms and Prayers for ealing was listed incorrectly. It will begin in about an hour - 3:00 pm TODAY. See below for the link.
  2. As you have seen from other emails, we have two members who have lost siblings this week and, due to the coronavirus, we were unable to provide shiva minyanim for them. Tonight, following the ma'ariv minyan, Roberta Helzner will speak about her brother Martin Robinson, z"l. Tomorrow night, Nancy Solomon will speak about her brother, David Pearl, z"l.
  3. Abbey has set up an account on Mobilize to allow people to easily communicate their needs and availability to help. You can sign-up at https://tikvat-israel-caring-network.mobilize.io/registrations/groups/38966
  4. We are co-sponsoring a Blood Drive with Beth Sholom in Potomac on Monday, March 23 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm. It will be through their mobile unit - people will wait in cars until their time to come in and their are barriers between the area for the 3 people giving at any time. I am will forward the link to sign-up for a slot via News and Schmooze and on the Mobilize site, or you can email me for it.

Wishing you peace of mind and health of body,

Rabbi Marc Israel

7:30 PM - DAILY MA'ARIV AND COMMUNITY CHECK- IN
Each night (Sunday - Thursday) at 7:30 pm, we will have an on-line ma'ariv service and community check-in. During this time, we will recite the names on our yartzeit list and provide opportunities to honor our loved ones of blessed memory, using a version of Kaddish that can be recited when one cannot be with a minyan. Click on the link to access and print the Kaddish L'Yachid . We will be using Siddur Sim Shalom (blue cover, either the pocket version or the full size Shabbat, Festivals and Weekdays version). If you don't have one, you may access the ma'ariv service on line through Sefaria.org .

To sign-in for daily minyan, go to: https://zoom.us/j/428541269
