We hope you are having an enjoyable summer thus far. Majestic Beach Resort and Panama City Beach in general is extremely busy with guests soaking up the sun. We wanted to take a few minutes to provide some important updates and information. As always, please let us know if we can assist you in any way.

Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic began, the Majestic Fitness Center has been closed in compliance with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' orders. Now that the State imposed restrictions are beginning to loosen, it is time to prepare to reopen the Fitness Center. As you may be aware, since Majestic Beach Resort first opened in 2005, the Resort Collection has operated the Fitness Center while acting as onsite rental management company through its contract with Majestic Beach Towers Development, LLC. The Fitness Center, which is one of the Developer owned commercial parcels, has always been available for use by owners free of charge, but rental guests of units that were not enrolled in the Resort Collection's rental management program had to pay a daily fee to use the Fitness Center.

Recently, the Resort Collection has informed the Association that they can no longer operate and staff the Fitness Center for free. With the possibility of the Fitness Center closing, the Board of Directors have discussed the possibility of assuming the operation of the Fitness Center in order to ensure that this great amenity for owners and their guests does not go away.

During the June 11th Board Meeting, the Board voted to lease the Fitness Center from Majestic Beach Towers Development, LLC for $1.00 per year. The Majestic Beach Resort Community Association, Inc. will assume all costs and responsibilities for operation of the Fitness Center. This is good news for owners and their guests. For the next 8-10 weeks, the Fitness Center will be only be available for use by owners during the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM while modifications are made in order to add security and an access control system to the room. Rental guests will be allowed to use the Fitness Center free of charge once the modifications have been completed. When reopened, the Fitness Center will no longer be staffed by an attendant. We will provide further information in the coming weeks. In the meantime, if any owner would like access to the Fitness Room, please stop by Owner Services between the hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
If you have been to Majestic lately, you will notice the new Security Guard House as you enter the Parking Garage. The Guard House, which will also have security camera access will provide for better security and service for our arriving guests. As guests are arriving for the first time Security is providing them with a temporary pass until they are able to retrieve the guest parking pass from the unit. It is important that all guests receive a completely filled out parking pass for their stay. Additionally, please be sure to provide guests with directions prior to arriving on loading and unloading areas, located on the 3rd floor of the Parking Garage.
As owners of vacation rental property, most of you realize the importance of having reliable and trustworthy housekeepers and maintenance personnel. When hiring a service provider, whether it be housekeeping, maintenance, rental management, or a contractor who may be working inside your unit, it is imperative that you ensure they are properly insured in order to protect you and your fellow homeowners. When doing so, make sure you are hiring someone with solid and reputable references. Additionally, ensure that they are properly insured, not only for possible property damage, but also for workers comp liability.
