You made it! 2018 is officially in the books. Whether you met all your fundraising goals or came up short, hopefully you’ve had a moment to catch your breath and are ready to take on the opportunities that lie ahead in 2019, especially in growing major gifts for your organization. The challenging yet exciting thing about major gifts is that there’s always more to do and always room for improvement.

As you look out over the next 12 months, here are some ideas to think about right now for your major gifts program, before we get too far into the new year.

On January 17th, Chief Operating Officer, CJ Orr, and Associate Director, Katie Nickels , will present a webinar with the Nonprofit Coordinating Committee of New York. The webinar, “Technology for Your Nonprofit: Choosing the Right Tools,” will include a live demonstration of various digital technologies that can address some of the most common fundraising problems.

Women’s Philanthropy Breakfast
On Thursday, December 6th, Orr Group hosted a fascinating conversation including acclaimed author and Women‘s Philanthropy expert, Kathleen Loehr. It was a chance for senior nonprofit leaders to discuss why gender matters in philanthropy and exchange insights about how to better engage women donors over breakfast in our DC office. With the success of this inaugural event, we plan to bring the event to New York in Spring 2019.

Shea Hermann
In January, Shea Hermann joined the Orr Group team in the role of Associate. Shea's previous experience includes planning events, implementing campaigns, maintaining a brand, and working with media and non-profits. Originally from Louisiana, Shea currently resides in Arlington, Virginia. Excited to have her as part of the team! 

NEW TEAM MEMBER
Patricia McLoughlin
In January, Patricia McLoughlin joined the Orr Group team in our NYC office in the role of Associate. Trisha graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Community Environment and Development. She first got involved in fundraising serving as the Greek Organization Liaison Communications Captain of Penn State's Dance MaraTHON. Welcome to the team, Patricia!
