Biggs Vice Mayor Douglas Arnold and Councilmember Jerome Squires Endorse Andrew Coolidge for Assembly.
Former Chico Mayor Andrew Coolidge today announced he has secured the endorsement of Biggs Vice Mayor Douglas Arnold and Councilman Jerome Squires, in the 2026 race for Assembly District 3.
In response to the endorsements, Coolidge stated, "I am honored to have the endorsements of Vice Mayor Arnold and Councilman Squires. It is both humbling and exciting to see our campaign grow each and every day as new community leaders and residents take a stand for common sense and join our team. We are building a campaign that will advance through the primary in June, win in November, and deliver real results for the North State."
Arnold and Squires join numerous other local leaders in Assembly District 3 endorsing Coolidge for Assembly, including Biggs Mayor Bo Shepard. Nine of the twelve Mayors in the district have endorsed Coolidge for Assembly, more than any other candidate in the race.
Coolidge is the former Mayor of Chico (four years), a former councilmember (four years), and served the community in a wide range of leadership roles prior to taking a seat on the Chico City Council. He has also run a successful business in the district for the last 32 years and is a lifelong resident of the district.
Coolidge is running for the Assembly District 3 seat currently held by Assemblyman James Gallagher, who is not running for in due to term limits. The primary election will be held on June 2nd, 2026
