Olympian Weibrecht Hosts Day of Skiing at Whiteface
Skiers, mark your calendars.

Three-time Olympian, two-time medalist and Make-A-Wish ® Northeast New York Board of Trustees member Andrew Weibrecht will host a day of skiing at Whiteface Mountain on March 24 to benefit the Chapter.

The day includes half-price lift tickets at Whiteface with a $10 donation to Make-A-Wish Northeast New York, an opportunity to ski with -- and against -- Weibrecht, a raffle with a chance to win a stay at the famed Mirror Lake Inn, and a reception.

Moment of My Life'

Wish teen Tyhlar of Mechanicville spent the day with the University at Albany men's basketball team late last month, when he joined them for film study, their shootaround and a meal, and sat behind the bench for the game against Hartford.

He thought he was there to help thank the UAlbany athletic program for its dedication to the Chapter, but was stunned to find out that his wish was being granted.

Tyhlar is going to the NBA All-Star Game this week in Charlotte, N.C.

This year the Kristy Pollak Memorial Holiday Lights Show in Amsterdam raised more than $18,000 for Make-A-Wish Northeast New York and its Adopt-A-Wish Holiday Campaign!
Jimmy Doubles Up North Country Goal

Adopt-A-Wish Holiday Campaign wish ambassador Jimmy nearly doubled his fundraising goal this year and raised $1,800 for Make-A-Wish Northeast New York. The 9-year-old recruited local businesses to sell stars and led fundraising in village schools to reach his goal.

Sustaining Partners Program a New Way of Giving
Make-A-Wish Northeast New York has created a new category of giving. The Sustaining Partners program has been designed to promote year-long engagement, principally with business donors.

The designation is attached to individual or corporate donors who commit to sponsorship of the Chapter’s three major annual fundraisers: the Adopt-A-Wish Holiday Campaign, the annual Wish Gala and the Walk for Wishes®.
What is the Impact
of Granting Wishes?

A team of researchers, led by Anup Patel, MD, have conducted a study on the transformational power of a wish on children. The study is a first-of-its-kind, and is opening the door to possibilities of medical and financial benefits.

The study found patients who were granted a wish were more likely to have fewer unplanned hospital and emergency department visits.

Power of A Wish'

Wish kid Thomas explains his personal views on the true power of a wish. His wish to attend the 2016 Pro Bowl in Hawaii was granted after battling cancer for nearly three years. He describes his wish as the "finale" to his illness, and a celebration of everything that he overcame.

Globetrotters, ValleyCats Team Up for Chapter's Kids
The Tri-City ValleyCats and Make-A-Wish Northeast New York have announced a partnership with the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters to host “Swishes for Wishes Night” at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium this summer. This unique fundraising theme night will take place on Sunday, July 28, as the ValleyCats take on the Connecticut Tigers at 5 p.m.

The ValleyCats will be wearing Globetrotters-themed baseball jerseys, which will be auctioned off during the game to benefit Make-A-Wish Northeast New York.
