Make City Incubator Tour + BBQ
Join us for this year's Make City Incubator Tour & BBQ!

It's a fantastic opportunity to see what's happening on the West Side of Chicago at ICNC's Make City incubator. Make City is home to over 100 small businesses from many industries including food and beverage, apparel, beauty and hair care, creative services, and more! 

Come join one of our three tour groups for the day and take a peek at what happens behind the red doors and what goes into modern urban manufacturing.

Apply Now for Cohort #2 of the Impact Culinary Training Program!
The application for the second cohort of Impact Culinary Training is open! The program aims to provide young adults ages 16-24 with 8 weeks of culinary training in the kitchen, followed by 4 weeks of experience working in a restaurant during an internship. There is a priority application deadline of September 27th. The session will take place from November 4th to February 7th, including class breaks for holidays. Information sessions for potential students, community organizations, and partners are every Tuesday at 11 AM at The Hatchery (135 N. Kedzie).

Kinzie Framework Plan Passes Zoning Committee
The Kinzie Framework Plan  and the proposed boundary and use changes to the Kinzie Industrial Corridor's Planned Manufacturing District (PMD) was passed today by the Committee on Zoning, Landmarks, and Building Standards! The Plan will be presented at the September 18th City Council meeting for final vote. ICNC continues to support the adoption of the Kinzie Framework Plan and its proposal to retain the PMD and livable-wage jobs located near Chicago's city center. Here are some of the exciting happenings at ICNC's urban manufacturing incubator Make City:

- Catan Pisco was named the winner of Best in Show and Double Gold Medals at the San Diego Spirits Festival.

- Meliora Cleaning Products, a Certified B Corporation, has been named a Best For The World honoree in recognition of their significant positive impact on their community.


- Netizen, a nonprofit created by studiothread and Branger_Briz, hosted a series of conversations about data and the world we live in at the ICNC office. Take a look at the videos. 

- Passion House Coffee Roasters has cafes in Logan Square and Politan Row, and they recently opened a new location in Goose Island.

- New product launches: Astor + Banks, Chicago Comb Co., and studiomalt.
