An Evening of Author Readings @JAM

Brooklyn-based short story writer Sara Lippmann reads from her first novel, Lech (published fall 2022). Poet and Professor of Creative Writing Vievee Francis reads selections from her work. Illustrator and cartoonist Ricardo Siri shares excerpts from his graphic novels, and Norwich, VT-based author Peter Orner reads selections from his newly released non-fiction collection, Still No Word From You. 

Co-hosted with the Norwich Bookstore. Books for sale and signing to follow.

A collage and video art exhibit by media artist Rich Fedorchak uses mixed media to evoke surreal visions of a utopian future and explores the role of art in healing the inequity and violence of the 21st century.

Collage Animation & Button Making Pop-Up

Make collages that move! Kids and adults of all ages are welcome to drop by JAM anytime between 10am-2pm to create stop- motion animations by collaging with photographs with help from local collage artist and filmmaker Rich Fedorchak. Use our supplies or bring your own pictures of family and friends. We’ll also have a button making station to turn your creations into wearable art!

Do you have a dream project you’ve been wanting to work on, but haven’t had the time or resources? Let’s make it happen! Pitch Fest is a JAM event geared towards paying creative people to make interesting things happen. Awards of $250, $500, or $1000  available. Everyone’s invited! 

You’ll have 5 minutes to make a case for your idea before a panel of stunning, yet ferocious judges. Think Shark Tank, but with less ads. Register now!

Instructor: Mike Cannon

A tour of editing software and techniques suited to all levels, this hands-on workshop series focuses on editing fundamentals that are used in the creation of successful story-telling media. You are invited to bring your own media projects or a folder of practice media will be provided. Editing equipment and software is all available—or bring your own laptop! Suited for all ages/levels.

$100 – Fee waiver/assistance available.
